Real Madrid are supposedly after a £25million plus deal to bring arguably the best player in the world Zinedine Zidane to the Bernabeau in the summer. If this deal goes through Real Madrid will be hot favourites to bring the Champions League back to Madrid. What do you think??
Do you think this move is likely?

Welcome to the board Matt. Yes, it's been on the cards for quite a while now (the Zidane transfer I mean, not you joining the board!).
The president of Madrid (Florentino Perez), is gradually aiming to build a super team, and this is one part of it. Just another world class defender, and a top striker, and that will be it. Almost a World XI.

Yep, proposed £42m move, and Rui Costa is also rumoured to be on his way to the Bernabeu. What a team!!

Absolutely right mate! Completely agree! I don't actually think they could play together all that well. Individually they show some immense flashes of skill but on the whole they are not team players but match winners.
Also, with a midfield of McManaman, Figo, Costa and Zidane or whatever, you have all flair and no stamina or cover for the defence. You need a central midfield pairing where one can attack while the other drops deeper- and ideally this is alternated!
Therefore, dream midfield would not be Zidane and Figo, but Figo and Keane! <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

They will have the perfect midfield partnership cos Helguera is the one who plays just in front of back four, wins ball, and keeps possession. While Zidane would be the playmaker. Figo will play on the right as usual. Everyone in Spain said they were just a set of individuals a couple of years ago but not anymore. "Vincent of the Wood" has created superb team spirit, and they really do play as a team now. I'm sure they will adjust and squeeze Zinedane into the team. Barcelona are the club with excellent individuals but a poor team.
