Sam Johnstone has signed for Preston until the end of the season on loan and it sounds as though there's an option to make it permanent, gutted to see him gone he is a star in the making inbetween the sticks

Nice one, highly rated here and has looked good in the odd games he's played in the cup games. Hopefully will come back to fight for a place next season. :)

A pacey striker with strength and a decent finish. Very good at disrupting back fours, getting into difficult places and getting on the end of balls on the break. Best way to use him seems to be with a creative midfielder to supply balls along the ground through the middle, if he gets on the end of these sorts of ball he nearly always scores them. Not sure how your team shapes up this season, but if you have anyone in the centre midfield as technically skilled as Dele Alli then he should score bucketloads for you as they've worked brilliantly together in his time here.

The Afobe/Bamford debate we've had going on all season until now and it's still not been resolved. My thoughts are that Afobe is a great all-round striker and better than Bamford at this level because he's versatile and can both play attractive football on the ground as well as being a target man for long/through balls. I'd have doubts about him being as good in the Championship though, he's struggled for goals at that level before and while his all-round abilities are great at this level, I think higher the level, the more he needs a 'killer app' in one particular area of his game. This is exactly what Bamford had, his first-touch finishing was outstanding and his manoeuvrability with the ball was almost as good and miles ahead of Afobe in these regards. But he lacked the pace and strength, so wasn't as good as Afobe for this level. From what I've seen of him since leaving us though, Bamford I think has continued to prove the value of having his stand-out finishing talent in a higher league, so I'm fairly certain he'll be playing in the Premiership in the near future, not so sure about Afobe though.

Aye the rumour is that if we get promoted we will be buying him for over a million... PNE dont even spend that much on strikers so why the fook we are offering to pay that for a young keeper i dont know! Would rather the money go to a goalscorer or midfielder which we both desperately need before a goalkeeper.

Typical Grayson, spend a million on a keeper and get your strikers from the bargain bucket!

Grant McCann, as expected has signed for Linfield on a free transfer, 6 month contract until the end of the season. No idea why we've let him go.

We have signed 2 strikers! Jamar Loza has signed for a month from Norwich and Gozie Ugwu has returned after being released by Dunfermline, even though he has been their top goalscorer this season?

Financial constraints seemingly. Glad to have him back and hopefully the new kid will hit the ground running!

He was excellent for Brentford last season, however he hasn't pulled up any tree's for us. Plus rumours of him calling in sick and then found on the pop the nigh before hasn't done him any favours.

Also signed James tavernier on loan to the end of the season. Cant say I know a lot about him either but was good for Rotherham last season by all accounts. Two positions filled that I wouldn't say were priorities. But with a small squad seems sensible!

As Quirk says better off asking the Brentford fans as Saville has played fairly poorly but in games the whole side did where we've had a few tonkings so hard to pass any judgement.

Judging by the lads Twatter he's a legend in his own mind.

Scored 2 pearlers against us last year.

I assume the logic is Little is one of our side who does the most miles so with so many games its wise to get in some cover.

Id say we need another body in midfield with Kane gone.

All we need now is Smith untill the end of the season or a replacement striker..

I blocked out last year, it was to depressing. If I was to go through our team at the moment I'd say Little would be the first player we could improve on. Don't get me wrong he is a solid player at this level but technically he could improve.

I agree with that. Said that for a while. Id quite fancy Ayling there with Osbourne at centre half. Not sure Little has it in him to step up a level.
