Post those new singles, albums, artists and anything else new for 2024 in here. My 2023 Spotify Wrapped was utterly pitiful so I need to be finding new stuff for 2024
Elbow have got a new album out in March which cannot be as bad as the last one (he says, hopefully). And I'm hearing very strong rumours that The Libertines have a new one all but finished and should be out soon.
After hearing of Mallorca Lee's Cancer Diagnosis recently I found out that there was a trend to get Ultra-Sonic's "Obsession " to number 1. Upon checking said charts I was amazed to find Sophie Ellis Bextor is in the current top 5 with "Murder on the Dancefloor " which must be 20 years old so I don't imagine I'll be posting in here much.
Peter Gabriel's new album, io, is starting to grow on me. You know what you're going to get with our Pete but even after a long hiatus he still manages to sound good. The album features two versions of every song, the right side being more upbeat and the dark side containing a soupcon of evilness. I like it.
Just downloaded Wall Of Eyes by The Smile, which is a side project and the second album by Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood. On first listen it has Radioheadness potential..
That will be down to the new Amazon movie Saltburn. Murder on the Dancefloor has become the soundtrack single for the movie owing to a specific scene I gave Saviors by Green Day a go yesterday. I'm by no means a Green Day fan and before this have only ever really listened to their mainstream released singles but I really enjoyed it. One of those albums where every song felt like a winner
If you want a brand new rock band to listen to then give SPRINTS a shot. I wouldn't be surprised to see them to explode on the mainstream this year. You might like The Reytons too.
Just downloaded it and played the opening track, The American Dream Is Killing Me. It's Green day, alright.
New Marnz Malone album; Tina’s Boy, dropping next Friday (09/02). Really looking forward to it. MAKTUB & Trenchfoot were two of my favourite projects from last year. Mental to think it was all recorded from prison.
Came across this song last night - The Guest List appear to a band trying to make it but thought this was a pretty catchy tune and tells the story of 161 men and boys who volunteered to fight in WW1 from a street in Altrincham
