Story isn't going away. Will we have the devil we know, or a completely unknown Chinese group in charge by the start of the season?

If some powerhouse Chinese or Arab takes over, its the perfect time to do so with Rafa in the ranks. The guy has immense connections to big players, and hugely respected everywhere. If they get taken over before January, and Rafa is allowed to spend freely, I don't think they'll be any doubt that Newcastle could be in the Euro positions come end of season. He's done so well with what he has and deserves to bring in some big names.

If Ashley asks a price which is far too high, we won't be sold. His advertising will stay put.
He's got the place in the news again which might be the key goal.
There just isn't any trust that he won't sell to the next Venkys. I'm not getting carried away.

On Twitter there was a picture of an unusual PRIVATE Emirates plane at Newcastle Airport yesterday (Sat) with arabic writing on the side. Just in time for the tedious but ultimately victorious game against Crystal Palace The plane looked like a Airbus 330. OK I'm seeing positives where there probably isn't. But I just pray we get what the monumentally lucky Man City fans undeservedly got (bitter, jealous....:D)

Not News really though is it

Fat Cashley has had the club on and off the market more times than an epileptic on a pogo stick since about 6 months after he bought the club.

I'd love an owner who had plenty of cash to plough into the team, but to be honest I'd just be grateful for one who just gave a shit even if they were broke who could actually bring some heart and soul to the squad, the club and the fans rather than the fractured mess we've had for the last 10 years. The revolving door of players and managers has proven time and time again that the issues at NUFC are more to do with the club itself than the squad :(

They're saying if Amanda comes in and buys the club, Rafa will have a potential £300-500 MILLION to spend over the next two transfer windows. Could you imagine the team he could build with that?! With his contacts to Real Madrid, Napoli, Internazioniale, Valencia etc he's had his fingers in a few leagues and with some high end players...

I think Ashley will sell. I doubt there'll be a better time to get as much money as Ashley can. A relegation wiped about £100m off Aston Villa.
I hope it goes to a group who want to see the club do better than always buying cheap and selling our most valuable players, and just aiming for securing at least fourth bottom of the Premiership.
But to spend just £11m net in the summer and have us look like we've a reasonable chance of staying in the league must be lifting our value and be an attraction to buy.

Knowing Ashley being notoriously unpredictable, I'll believe it when it happens.

Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley has thanked Rafa Benítez, the players and the club’s supporters following the club’s tenth-place finish in the Premier League.

The Magpies secured a place in the top half with a 3-0 victory over Chelsea at St. James’ Park on Sunday.

The owner said: "I would like to thank Rafa Benitez for his magnificent achievement this season.

"I would also like to applaud the players, led fantastically by the captain Jamaal Lascelles.

"On many occasions throughout the season they have been described as a Championship side, which I personally consider to be derogatory.

"Rafa, as always, has my full support, and contrary to some media reports that portray me as a pantomime villain, I will continue to ensure that every penny generated by the club is available to him.

"I hope very much that Rafa will remain at Newcastle United.

"Finally, I would like to thank the fans for their unrivalled support of Rafa and the team throughout the season."

Mike Ashley thanks Rafa, players and fans

Continue? Is he taking the piss or what?

As Alan Shearer said on MOTD last night - Copy & Paste, same as he said last year.

The difference between finishing 10th in the Premiership and dropping out of it was possibly the price of three loans in January (4 to 6 million?)
To get a team that can get in the top 6 would be probably cost much more than that sprinkling of January loan funds.

If he can't get the amount of cash that he wants to sell, then the profits and St James Park advertising boards will have to be used for maximum effect to him.

And £125m TV money yearly must have an attraction to it.

We've had a number of these potential new owner stories.
This one seems to have been driven from a big company with funds. We'll see.
