He’s got that ‘right place, right time’ knack which you can’t really teach and he’s got a good turn of pace on him. Hard to give much more of an overview as I saw him maybe play 200 minutes of football for us. When looking at his goal scoring record last season it’s worth remembering he was playing for a team who finished the season with 104 league goals & was partnering Ollie Pearce which obviously offered him more time and space then you might normally expect.
Official: Junior Robinson Joins On Loan - Sutton United Football Club Sutton sign Junior Robinson on loan from West Ham. Robinson played, and scored, against us in the National League Trophy. So we’re using that for scouting I guess
Solid keeper just doesn't fit into how we want to play from the back as a sweeper. Definite upgrade on what you've had last few seasons
Glad to see the direction the club has been going in the past couple of weeks and hope it continues. Seems like we’re starting to build a squad that can have a go next season but with the slim hope we can still salvage this season.
Don't mean to piss on the parade but I said a while ago that I hoped we wouldn't sign any Carlisle rejects. We do need a left back but it's just the tried and tested and failed obvious type of signing, lad is from not far away, slipping down the leagues, so I'll need some convincing that he'll turn out any good. Edit - he has had a total slating on the Carlisle forum,
Carlisle fans are very angry and very bitter about everything at the moment. I would take anything they say with a pinch of salt for a while. saying that, he could be utter shite!
'Darlington is his level', 'not even a National league player' just some of the lowlights. I guess you never know he might do alright but I don't really see it as a signing that shows the club have some kind of new masterplan. He's local (ish), he knows one of the coaches at the club who probably said 'yeah there's a left back at my old club, let's just get him' and well here we are. Anyway he'll have to dislodge David Ferguson who definitely has dirty photos of the chairman, he is absolutely undroppable. We need an upgrade on him rather than back up.
TBH not a lot of difference between him and Collin, so really pleased to have two good 'keepers on the books. But the thing is and we probably didn't want this in the public domain whilst we were negotiating for Hayes, is Collin suffered a grade three hamstring tear at Daggers, so is probably out for the rest of the season. Plenty of time for Nick to establish himself now, which can only be a good thing.
Signed Caleb Ansen from Norwich on loan, our keeper picked up ACL injury on saturday. Plays tonight at Oldham, our no 2 also out with dislocated fingers and we had to play our young academy keeper for last 30 mins against Braintree. 9 key players out now so far from ideal,..
We are also playing an on loan keeper from cardiff so might be a night to 'test the keeper' from distance.
We've signed LB/LWB Brandon Fleming on loan from Hull. Was at Doncaster on loan earlier this season and played a fair bit so looks a decent signing in an area where we need more options.
We got jake leake from hull who plays the same position on loan. Be interested to see whose the better option. We have however had to revert to playing him at cb in a 3 as monthe is injured. Tbf he looks a prospect. We have also signed another gk on a short term deal. Tom Donaghey from fleetwood. Thats now 4 gk we have. 1 injured, 11back up seemingly not trusted, 1 loan who had a bad debut against alti, and now tom. Im not at all confident with our gk situation. Seems like a lot of clubs after a gk at the ninute
