Pope will be under the most pressure, but I don't see them changing the line up.

I think this series has done for Leach though, he was too one dimensional with his bowling.

India need 200 with 5 in hand....

Deep did all the hard work then got out like that 130 odd or 1 wicket for the series.

Lost a home series after 12 years, because we batted poorly against spin. Ideally heads should roll, but the selection committee has already declared the squad for the Australia tour.
You could argue, most of the team had an eye on the Aus tour & took NZ lightly.

But take nothing away from the Kiwis. This is an incredible achievement. One of the best away series wins of all times for any team.

Incredible effort by the Kiwis, a country with a population of a small town in Southern India where the locals only plays cricket because they’re no good at rugby.

It's not often you see India struggling to post 400 in a match at home.

It's a tricky situation for NZ now, do they rest players with England due, or do they go for the clean sweep?

Plus what was the idea behind putting Washinngton up ahead of Jadeja?

Pakistan completely doctored the pitch, they used every measure possible, including huge blowers. There were even suggestions that they raked it. Pathetic, shouldn't be allowed.

They did rake it, and they watered it and then used gas burners like the ones you see in pub beer gardens when it gets a bit chilly so it would speed the breaking up of the surface. Shouldn’t be allowed but is, strangely..

Good to see another Bear back in the team. He shows much promise already and at just 21 has years ahead of him. Doubt he’ll see much action on this tour (unless Brendy loses patience with Pope and I can’t see that happening) but his time will come..

True there do seem to be a lot of spinners and some batsmen probably could be under more pressure at the moment but the team like to be consistent and have faith in the current set up rather than like the 90s when there could be 4/5 changes each series!

I am not sure Bethell is going to play particular either as you say Panja.

It’s a disgrace is what it is. This is the one thing Australia has got right down here, all the tests are free either on channel 7 or 9. The commentary is incredibly biased towards the home team which can be annoying and would never happen with Nasser and Athers at the mike but at least you can see and hear it for free..

Exactly that, but they will continue to happily put some Hundred games on to try nd bring in "casual" viewers, but will pimp out the International Cricket.

    Some good news in that.

To compound matters, viewing figures for the Hundred dropped by more than a quarter this summer, although they held up better on the BBC than on Sky Sports despite clashing with the Paris Olympics, which convinced executives in Salford to stick with the competition. Audiences for the women’s Hundred fell by 41% on Sky compared with 2023, with a 28% decline for the men’s competition, while on the BBC the men were down 25%, with the women’s figures dropping by just 2%.

    Hopefully it disappears completely

Same here. Mandated to show for free on free government channels. Plus the billionaire who owns MI & airs IPL free on his entertainment app, has brought rights of Test matches in India & airs them for free on the app.
Also aired the entire Olympics for free on the same app.

The same issues with commentary exists(too biased), but they are appointed by the BCCI.

England pick four debutants for the first ODI against the West Indies, a tour that overlaps the test series against the Kiwis later this month so plenty of opportunities for fringe players. Can't say I'm too excited by this, apart from seeing how Jacob and Dan fare because of the Warwickshire connection but with such a young side it has that 'we've sent the kids out for a bit of a knock about' feel..

Baz has got his work cut out when he takes over the white ball squad, that’s for sure.
