Hello, my name is Kaboose. And I've got something for us to do here. As a community I imagine we all have one thing in common, we all love @Shane and we might also all love football. So I'd like to interact a bit more with our love for the latter and actually get EVERYONE'S opinion here. Or if you don't want to participate that's fine. This thread will be the main discussion thread for all of this. It will house the final XI we decide on through poll's and discussion. So here's what we're going to do first. First as a community we're going to decide on our formation. So right after I post this I'll begin a new thread for FF's All Time XI Formation, there we will discuss what in each of the member's opinion is the best formation ever. Then once we have two or three days for everyone to chime in I'll make a poll and whichever formation has the most votes by the end of the poll will be our formation.(In the even of a tie, there will be a new poll just for the tiebreaker but we'll get in to that in more detail in that thread. Once we have our formation the real fun begins. Position by position we will argue who deserves to play. For whatever formation we choose we'll need a keeper. So a thread will be opened for nominations. Everyone can post as few as 1 and no more than 16 of who they feel are the greatest keepers of all time. There is no wrong choices here. Whoever you feel deserves a nod and to be discussed. Then I will take the nominations and count them up. If there's at least 16 unique ones that's where we'll start. If there's between 8-15 I'll take the top 8, if there's 4-7 top four. Once that's decided a single elimination tournament will begin. Random drawing will seed the players and from there there will be polls created. Player with the most votes at it's expiration moves on. Now the point of this thread again is for the discussion, questions, and whatever else. So please enjoy, bring your opinion, remember there is no wrong answer and let the votes do the talking. If we're going for balance 4231 or 433. If we trying to include as many football geniuses as possible (who were generally inside forwards/#10s/withdrawn CF's) let's go for a classic WM
4-3-3 But historically I like the WM System. Germany won the 1954 World Cup with it. Of course today you have to play more "flexible" than that.
Huh? I've already voted in the poll (mine is the only 4-3-3 vote so far ). Keepers? Goalkeepers? I've already done that, too. Or what do you mean here?
No problem btw: I've nominated "only" my top3 in Keepers and only those that I've seen live (or in tv) for some years. So no Lew Yashin et al because it wouldn't be fair to rate them only by reading or seeing some b/w clips. Hope that's ok.
