Allegedly arrested for assaulted his girlfriend, squad announcement was due to happen tomorrow but not sure what's going to happen now. “The FAW is aware of an alleged incident involving the men’s national team manager Ryan Giggs. “The FAW will be making no further comment at this current time.” If guilty, he'd have to go, although as a person I was always morally against his appointment. As a manager, he's undoubtedly improved, qualified for next summers Euros and put us in a great position for the Nations League and this does put us in a bit of turmoil again, just before two important Nations League games which could have got us a World Cup play-off place. I'm not sure whether he'll still be in a position to take these games, or whether Rob Page will have to take them, and moving forward in to next year it's a difficult one for us as we tend to appoint within and don't have a lot to choose from. Ideal replacements would be Steve Cooper or Osian Roberts, although both are in jobs.
I will wait for full story, but what goes on in folks heads? If any of it is true then wtf was he actually thinking?
Like you say it is hard to tell without the full story, especially when assault can be for a variety of things, but initially I find it hard to believe he just started attacking her for no reason. I could be wrong but I think it is likely something happened which caused a disagreement to escalate so I doubt he was in his right frame of mind.
The c*nt is now being investigated over allegations he has assaulted a second woman during the same incident: Ryan Giggs investigated on suspicion of assaulting SECOND woman | Daily Mail Online The Welsh FA really do have egg on their face with this one. It's well known Giggs is a c*nt of a prick and in no way, shape or form should be heading up an organisation like the Welsh national football team. Get rid and get a proper manager in who doesn't embarrass your nation time after time after time.
You know he's been employed by Manchester United, ITV and Sky Sports since the affair with Natasha Giggs was made public. He's also been part owner of Salford City, Hotel Football and University Academy 92 since then. The recent allegations don't have anything to do with the decision to appoint him as manager. If he's found guilty of those allegations, then he won't be manager anymore. The nation isn't embarrassed.
ITV and Sly Sports are scum. Manchester Utd should have known better. As for owning things - that's down to him. If you're not embarrassed to have that clown as manager then you should be. It was naive in the extreme of the Welsh FA to appoint him in the first place given his track record of acting the c*nt. It was clear something like this was just around the corner. Hopefully it doesn't derail the players focus as right now Wales have one of their strongest squads of all time and could do really well in the Euros. During his playing career Giggs repeatedly turned his back on his nation, and now he's getting into trouble and it's all over the media, dragging the Welsh national side through the mud with him. He needs to have more respect for his country. Hopefully he goes. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
The University of 92 was founded and is in association with Lancaster University. He co-owns Salford City and Hotel Football with high profile figures, and major sponsors are strongly associated with the businesses that he runs. It's not shameful for the FAW to have an association with him, and it certainly isn't shameful for the nation, based on what we knew when he was appointed. Plenty of high profile figures from every nation have committed crimes, Belfast has an airport named after George Best, Liverpool has an airport named after John Lennon, and Paul Gascoigne is still a national treasure in England, high-profile individuals don't reflect the morality of any nation. You're giving it the moral high ground about how ITV are scum, whilst quoting a Daily Mail article that references the Sun as it's source. He's evidently not a nice guy, and I've said as much throughout his time here, but it's not something to be concerned about as a nation, his record of turning up to international friendlies is only a reflection on his own character and nobody else's. As for anything your referencing now, if it's proven to be true, then he won't be our manager anymore but at this moment in time we don't know the facts of the story, we can't sack him on the basis of what the Sun are saying and will have to wait until the case goes to court.
And yet England are happy to have Maguire who has been found guilty of bribery and Greenwood and Foden who are a shining example to younger players !!
You say that Wales has egg on its face but totally ignore the fact that England are behaving in an appalling manner selecting brawling Maguire and the pimp brothers. There is only an allegation against Giggs at present, IF he is charged then I am sure that the FAW will act.
