    Following the death of the Pope, all Italian matches scheduled for today have been postponed. This affects the following:

    @Cal_BCFC - Fiorentina & Juventus
    @Jason - Fiorentina
    @Lamby - Lazio, Juventus & Cagliari (NTS)
    @shudewill - Fiorentina & Juventus
    @Spaceman Spiff - Juventus

    Please advise if you decide to amend - standard rule of only having one club from a postponed match to achieve a full house applies

    I'm away for a few days now, guys and gals. I will try to get the week 40 results posted whilst I'm away, but I can't promise when it will be

    Selection of two halves for me. Quite a few blanks, but fortunately the teams that did manage to score ran up a hatful.

    Firstly, apologies to those who weren't able to get back on to amend any of the Italian selections. Thankfully, it hasn't impacted things with regards to any missed full house bonuses as there weren't any this week!

    However, we still managed a high scorer and that is Garrincha this week, nailing the top score despite arriving late onto the scene this week. This is enough to see them back above TLC and into 9th spot and they also breach 1000 points for the season, becoming the 9th player to do so. We move to that title battle next as we see someone in that battle score the second highest score this week and that someone is 2nd placed TAFKAP and with 5 weeks left to play he has narrowed that gap between him and leader Cal_BCFC down to just 6 points. At this rate, Sky Sports will be wanting to cover our title battle considering the PL one has been wrapped up for months :D In fact, it is not just the top 2 fighting it out as Cal's 20 point lead over the rest last week is obliterated with both StretfordEnd and Vanni narrowing the gap. The top 4 is now separated by just 16 points as we head into the final few furlongs of the season. Borussia Teeth, our long time leader for much of the early part of the season is only a further 13 points back - could it yet be a 5 horse race? Super_horns, ForestRob and Daz_Blade make up the next batch of players below 5th and all are now 1000 pointers for this season and all will feel they have a shot at breaking into that top 5! Further down in that mid-table battle and for one of few times this season, my name is in green as I climb upwards in the table, not quite leaping but maybe crawling above dale4ever and into 12th place. The only other movement in the table comes from Jason as he climbs above Vito Andolini and into 15th place.

    Mini-League Series

    The penultimate week of the 5 week Season 7 is now complete and it is now the regular appearance of TAFKAP at the top of The Super League group as he continues his stranglehold on this competition. With a 13 point lead over Garrincha heading into the final week it is TAF's to lose as he looks to add a 3rd group title to the 2 he has claimed in the last 2 seasons. A remarkable run of form! Garrincha has risen from the depths of the relegation places to 2nd spot which would be enough to keep them interested in the overall title but they have StretfordEnd just a point behind and it is safe to say those extra 5 points could work wonders for Strets ambitions of winning this overall title. It's tight at the bottom as well with dale4ever remaining at the bottom but only 4 points adrift of safety and Vanni now joining them in the bottom 2. Daz_Blade is just above the safety line but only thanks to a 2 point cushion.

    Super_horns has opened a gap up at the top of The Premier Division group as his previous 2 point lead becomes an 8 point lead with Jason taking over 2nd spot from shudewill who slips to 3rd. Myself and Cal_BCFC remain close to either end of the table as just 4 points separates 2nd and 6th with ForestRob remaining in the bottom 2 but only courtesy of Cal having more NTS whilst Spaceman Spiff remains bottom just 9 points from safety.

    We have a new leader in The Pub Division group as TLC moves to top spot and is followed in an upward trajectory by Panja who is now in the promotion places as well. Both of these moves come at the expense of Vito Andolini who slips out of the top 2 and down to 3rd but is only a point away from getting back into the top 2. Tight at the other end as well with 3 points separating the bottom 3 but it is Lamby who is in the more comfortable position outside of the bottom 2 as they rise out of the danger zone with Red Tide now at the bottom and Colinmorriswalksonwater joining them in the bottom 2.

    GOS Cup

    It is also the penultimate week of the GOS Cup 1st round and all is still to play for in both groups as we head into the final round of fixtures next week.

    In Group A Panja was very close to securing qualification having led Daz_Blade for much of the Bank Holiday fixtures but Daz came strong to seal a 3 point victory which means Panja remains at the top but with his fixtures now complete, he is relying on results working in his favour next week. Daz_Blade is up to 2nd but will need to win next week to have any chance of qualifying but he is not alone in this as reigning champion TLC is also now right in the mix after beating Super_horns by 1 point to end Super_horns chances of qualifying. If Daz and TLC both win their matches next week, it will come down to the points accumulated column so if they both win, TLC will also need to better Daz's score by 5 points. In the other fixture, Jason continues his solid end of competition form by beating Colinmorriswalksonwater to make it 2 wins in a row.

    In Group B, shudewill's 100% record is finally over as Lamby defeats him and in the process keeps the league alive into the final week. Garrincha thrashes me this week and is now our group leader, tied on points with shudewill in 2nd. However, Garrincha's competition is complete for now so shudewill only needs to draw next week to qualify but he is also in a position whereby he could lose next week and still qualify providing he scores at least 33 points. dale4ever is our other victor this week as they smash Vito Andolini but it's not all over for Vito as they still have an outside of qualification, but will need help from others and a very high score next week to have any chance of achieving this.

    **Please note that if points and points accumulated are tied, the final position will be decided by who won the match between the players in question!

    All of your scores for the week, along with the new table, the latest GOS Cup results and the latest mini-season tables can now be found below. Navigate through the different weeks by clicking on the tabs at the bottom. If you spot an error then just let me know!

    The players are in alphabetical order to give you a clue as to how far you have to scroll right to find your scores and it is still the same in that the league tables include the number of Full Houses (FH), Not To Scores (NTS) and Double Points Selections (DB) you've been successful with as well as your total points. I will use those 3 things (in this order) to determine the outcome of any ties :)

    @Tomohawk I did edit my selections after the Italian postponements though, so why hasn't that been reflected on the spreadsheet?

    Because you didn't tell me that you'd made your amendments! If you just edit your original post, I don't get any notification of it, so that's why I ask for you guys to let me know as well.

    I will get it updated later on

    I started this year with my usual blasé attitude, expecting to finish somewhere around mid-table and not really give a damn.

    However, I'm now properly invested in chasing down @Cal_BCFC ! Can you feel that breath on your neck yet!?
