We have signed 2 big names in Craig Bellamy and Laurent Robert which will strengthen our left sided attackin options. We seem to have a good enough squad to finish in top 6 if we dont get terrible injuries this year. How do you lot rate our chances for 2001/2002?

Hate to say it but mid table at best I think.
You really need to get Shearer the right service this season and hopefully he can bang some goals in and get you up the table.I think your best chance is in the Worthington Cup.

I can't see why everyone is writing off Newcastle this season. In february we were 7th despite having Dabizas and Cort out all season. It was only the last 3 months when we dropped. This season we have Dabizas back, Shearer soon, Cort and Dyer back not long + Robert and Bellemy. Were alot better off than last season and should be 6th

We will do better than las season because the squad is better! Europe depends on our injury list im afraid! U saw las season how bobby had to shuffle his pack more times than a ambidextrous magician. Newcastle are at the minute a sleeping giant that needs to be woken, but it may take a couple of seasons!! To be honest if we beat the mackems that will do me!

You have some class players but its your injury list that is going to kill you. Leeds had a bad lot of injurys last season and o'leary was saying how hard done by he was, but you and everton were worse off than them and your list seems to be getting longer, not shorter.

We must be the most unlucky squad with injuries in the premiership. Our team which will play Chelsea will not be our best team which is a pity because our full strength line up is a match for any team. When we get Shearer, Dyer and Cort back then we'll see how good we are

ok.. the only reason im in here, is because geordie wilky seems more intersted in the sunderland forum than the mags forum.. funny how he picks a forum where theres no mackems to defend safc

The trouble with the north east clubs, is that the press are always writing stories about how crap it is to live round here. How many times do we see a story about some player not being able to settle down in the N E? Bobbys had some trouble getting big names to newcastle, you gotta admit!
He payed to much for cort, and dyers one of them southern types shearer isn't the man he used to be (the best in the world), so i HONESTLY can't see the mags getting any higher than last season, sorry!

How bad is it to live round here, really? i mean... look at Glasgow and liverpool they are probably the roughest in the whole of britain, easily! Last time i turned out in newcastle i met loads of londoners lol so it cant be that bad

my prediction for newcastle this season is 11th

ohh! Craig Bellamy is crap, but i dont know much about Laurent Robert ???

Mackem ur right, i am more interested in your forum because that is why i come on to these boards for a difference in opinions!! if i want to talk newcastle ill chat to people up here!! i allways talk footie with baz (barrass82) over icq and when he can be bothered to get to places the skint twat, (only kiddin p.s get a feckin job)! I woulda preferd a north east forum for a few ding dong with the boro fans and mackems! I know there are no mackems here ive been tryin on yahoo chat to get some to join but they dont seem interested!! Robert is class and bellamy is shite i agree! But not bad for a forth choice striker, better than dickio!

I reckon Newcastle will win the league this year. They are by far the strongest team in the country and definitely in the North East. Bellamy will no doubt be top scorer and good'old Bobby Manager of the Year. Come on you Magpies!
