I put my laptop on last night, and it said one of the Cooling Systems is not working correctly. It says ideally it shouldn't be turned on. Is this a major problem, that needs sorting quickly? What is the best thing to do? Im not great with computers, so don't really know what it means! Thanks!
One of the cooling systems has failed? To my knowledge, a laptop like yours probably only has a CPU fan. It's probably clogged up with crap.
We had that problem with the desktop. Computer would shut down whenever it felt like it. Did not give a thought that the grid that was allowing air to circulate in and out of the tower was bunged up.
Take the back off and see if you can see the cooling system, you should be able to. Spray some compressed air in or scrape the crap out of it. If that doesn't work then take it for repair.
The case ones are usually the larger ones. You might need to take them all off though but as I say they will be different sizes so you can tell which goes back where.
I more than likely won't touch the laptop, because i have no idea what im doing, and will make it worse! Il ring somebody on Monday!
This happened to my old laptop, the cooling system was full of dust etc and the whole thing just ended up burning out.
