We’re going for the we can score more goals than you method again It’ll be interesting to see who we bring in to strengthen the defence . Cook seems to be able to attract players to the club so I’m expecting a bit of quality coming in.
Yep, we were awful without Grigg last season, and our number 10s Jacobs and Banks probably are on their way out. A front 4 of Grigg with Madden number 10 and Dobra and Colclough outwide will be class We now just need a new back 4 and CDM but Cooks on with that too
Well I’ve been kicked off the League 2 banter page on FB already for comparing MK Dons to a 60 year old virgin who flys out to Thailand to buy a cheap bride . I thought it was a banter page .
Happy with our retained/released lists. I personally don’t see Molyneux or Adelakun extending but I think Biggins will. We’ve got a very good core of players, but McCann needs backing with some quality signings in the summer. The league looks weaker than this season so we really need to be pushing on for automatic promotion
Yeh. I saw 14/1 with the bookies & thought that feels a bit generous considering the way Rovers finished the season.
The "we will score more than you" is what makes Grant McCann of Doncaster so exciting. And when he says we will go for a top 3 position our fans will believe him. So we will wait and see, but he won't want the play-off lottery again. For Chesterfield, it is always a hard one to judge playing up a new league with clubs that already know each other and some reasonably expecting to be near the top. Notts County found it was harder than they thought.
Funny enough, before Christmas I wanted to see the whole team replaced, now I want to see us to keep as much together as possible. Be great to see Molyneux, Adelakun and Biggins all resign knowing they will play every game next season and enjoy it. I would love to see goalie Lo-Tutala come back as he has been as instrumental in our success as any other player. The other loans have returned, but I am sure McCann will find shrewd replacements so we can start the season near the top and stay there.
Good luck to Stockport, Wrexham and Mansfield in league one. Well done on your success. I hope you all can cope with the leap up and enjoy next season, but don't expect it to be as easy as last season was. Enjoy!
On the basis that I'd expect the bookies to price Bradford, yourselves and Notts up as the automatic early favourites, that price is about where I'd expect Doncaster to be. I'd also say it represents some decent each-way value.
DR90, "Lo-Tutala confirmed as not returning unfortunately" I have read everything written on the subject but until the owner sorts out the club it is possible he might even bring in another first or second goal keeper, so if for one second he thinks he might be on the bench, as opposed to playing every game at Rovers, he might consider coming back. You never can tell. The fans would love him back. No player wants to spend a season on the bench. Would we have won 10 in a row with Lawler or Jones? I doubt it.
Guess we'll get to watch the manager that walked and a bunch of players we deemed not good enough win at Wembley today just to round off a god awful weekend of playoff football and the shit sandwich that is this season. But hey, at least our moron owner and his ex convict mates and our 1300 season ticket holders can look forward to us signing absolutely nobody with an interim manager that doesn't have all his badges.
I'm fully expecting Danilo Orsi to once again prove our abject stupidity in letting him go last summer. But I also saw that Charlie Austin had made some pretty strong comments in your local paper this week about the current state of the club. Is it time for some more substantive action to force boardroom change in your view.
The newly appointed supporters Trust released a pretty robust statement last week, some folks tried to organise a protest at the last home game and were pretty much intimidated into standing down by this lowlife who supposedly isn't employed by the club. The owner responded to the trust with his usual waffle a few days later. There are rumours we've only sold between 900-1300 season tickets, attendances are dwindling so fans are starting to vote with their feet. Might be time to start purchasing tennis balls!
Didn't realise that today's play off kick off time was 1pm , that's a bit of a sh*tter for Crewe fans & a fair ol' travel . Not too fussed who wins though never seen Posh play Crawley so that could be a first for next season if it happens .
Pretty sure the west coast lines go direct from Crewe to Euston so shouldn’t have been too bad, means they’ll actually be able to get home tonight with it being a 1pm kick off Come on Crawley
That deserves a penalty just because of the dreadful pass by the midfielder. Addai does superbly. Bet Lindsay is glad they have VAR now.
