    Sunday at 2PM.

3-1 Liverpool. We'll score first, run out of steam and concede a few. :zzz End of the season can't come soon enough.

No excuses for this one given Thursday night is also a home game. Hopefully after this one likes of TAA, Jota, and Alisson will be back in contention.

Simple truth is I reckon we need maximum points to win the league from here, or at worse no more than a draw and winning the rest. We certainly cannot afford to drop any points in the remaining home games.

So anything other than a win and it's over in this one.

    3-1

we might see one or two on the bench bit this one might come too soon for long term absentees that are just back in training this week.

    all very positive though.

Agreed. Unlikely to see Guehi or Doucoure but Olise may finally be alright.

I'd love us to be within touching distance of Arsenal's GD after this game, but if recent form is anything to go by... We'll piss away a million chances, concede an early goal or an equalizer against the run of play, and feel relieved to get 3 points/a draw by the end.

I said in the Sheffield United thread that I wanted to murder them to improve GD and close gap on Arsenal. We know as much as anyone it's as good as a point and against Arsenal too. Sheffield United are last in league GD minus 50 odd and one of the worst sides in PL era even an only half firing Liverpool should've plastered them all over the place. To a lesser degree Palace are another club that we should be winning comfortably at home. But like you said we are just so wasteful in front of goal at the minute and what isn't helping is that we can't keep the back door closed and that's as costly as squandering the chances. I think it was @MrLeeLemon that said we aren't going to catch Arsenal GD now and way things are looking have to agree. We just have to get over the line now no matter how it happens and hope someone takes something from Arsenal only realistic shot.

    Game Prediction: 2-1.

The question for me isn't how many goals we score, but how comically high the chances per goal will be. Darwin on his own will likely have around 10 shots and probably won't score from any of them. And gone are the heady days of Mo having 3 good chances and scoring from 2 of them.

It's f******g infuriating and for me will ultimately be the reason we fail to take the title. We can run all over teams and walk away with two thirds of the possession and shit loads of shots but it means jack shit if the primary stat that counts after the final whilstle isn't higher than the opposition's.

Still on course to score 88 goals this season. And they've only failed to score a goal in a single game in all competitions.

By all means that tally should be higher, and it should be they haven't failed to score in any games at all. But I don't feel too annoyed by it given they're still very much the strongest attacking side in the league imo. Arsenal have notched more goals up (by 3) but that's down to those recent freak results. Heading into 2024 everybody was criticisng their lack of attacking prowess.

What is mad is the fact we're the highest scorers (all comps) in the big 5 Leagues...yet we miss about 25 chances a game. Just Man United for instance, this season we have had 98 shots against them in 3 games, scored 5 goals in total and not won a game. Imagine the goals we'd have if we were clinical.

Liverpool will win 4-0 whilst only having 4 attempts the whole match. The Palace way.

As much as I love Kopp and think he's a fantastic manager one thing I will never understand with him is why he hasn't put a ban on Gomez from constantly taking pot shots from outside the box? Why doesn't Klopp just pull him aside in training and have a quiet word with him so it doesn't embarrass him and tell him unless we're winning by few goals then he's not allowed to continue to take on these extremely low chance strikes? Smashing one shot wide 20 plus yards out when we're 2-0 down and potentially going out of Europe then few minutes later blasting shot over the bar from 30/35 yards out. He's never scored a Liverpool career goal yet he somehow thinks he has the ability and technique and guile to nestle one into top bins from that sort of range? It is infuriating and the fans need to stop encouraging him (I know they didn't for the second shot just generally speaking) because it's becoming detrimental to the team and morale. Whoever replaces Klopp needs to put a stop to it that's providing Gomez is even in their plans as it stands we still don't know what's going on.

    ABSOLUTELY!!!

Doing my head in these past few months, one he did tonight was ridiculous, even Steven Gerrard would struggle to have scored.
