Who remembers Luton's and QPR's plastic pitches? Hectic footy from the days when BBC and ITV showed live games.
Yeah, we are talking mid to late 80's here. I remember Big Ron's Man U side trouncing Luton 6-0 I think. Robbo, Stapleton, Muhren & co. Chris Turner too.
LOL HAHAHAHAH Yeah plastic pitches - nasty burns for any nut cases wishing to slide in for a 50 50 ball - Roy Keane wouldnt of survived back then !!!! ------------------ "Some people regard football as a matter of life and death - I don't agree with that attitude - I can assure them it means much much more than just that" ~ Bill Shankly
Sure astroturf these days is just the same, We play at lunchtimes once a week and blood is invariably spilled. I remember one fella landed face first - what a mess.
Errrm Nope. QPR had one and Luton. ------------------ "Some people regard football as a matter of life and death - I don't agree with that attitude - I can assure them it means much much more than just that" ~ Bill Shankly
I've got this image of Beckscum scoring from a corner on an indoor pitch for Preston when he was on loan from the scum..... I need my head checking probabaly
QPR, Luton, Oldham & Preston all had plastic pitches. I definately remember Luton having a plastic pitch as I got to play on it!
When I was younger I did one of these footy training things at Kenilworth Road, so I got to play on the plastic pitch!
It was mainly training sessions but we got to play a small match at the end of each session. I got a few grazes though as I seemed to keep ending up in goal!!
