Surprised I can’t see one created as we had one in the championship forum big game for derby yesterday against Oxford. Came out eventual winners 1-0. Great goal by Hourihane. Oxford a strange team - should have scored a few first half where a simple ball over the top caused us problems but lack of quality in the final 3rd told. Second half we were much stronger with having 3 or 4 great attacking plays where we were in Down the side of the box but through stoic defending on the line the ball just wouldn’t go in. Some passing and movement was good quality but then they’d do some silly play that gives the ball away. I’ll put it down to early inthe season. overall hugely pleased to get off the mark. Players are still learning each other’s game after only being together for three weeks. Still got mcgoldrick to come back who I think will add some quality to the final 3rd and bring our creative link. Charlton next for our first away game. Big following hopefully going.
Anybody still think we will be challenging? I would have hoped the players who don't want to be at Oakwell would have gone by now.
You looked ok on the new ITV4 highlights show albeit similar to last season , lots of pretty build up play but lacking that finishing prowess . BBC Radio Cambridgeshire interviewed Jack Marriott after the match & reporter asked Jack " talk us through the goal " Jack replied " I just ran into the box & kicked it in the net " it's simple stuff this football lark One of our fans was alledgedly arrested for having pyrotechnics with them prior to the match , well done to Gloucestershire police if true .
Good round up, also a great attendace and atmosphere. Got my Charlton tickets yesterday, can not wait. And for me, the big test will come away from home, last season we had a good home record, but away was poor, so if we can sort our away form out, it could be a season to remember. Up the Rams.
We've got Tyson Fury's mob Morecambe on Saturday with the dangerous Cole ( the goal ) Stockton still in the Shrimpers squad & who've sold just over 200 tickets for their 2nd ever trip to London Road . Other than the departed Sammie Szmodics we should have Kwame Poku & Nathan Thompson available for selection but the BIG NEWS is / will be how will the home fans cope with their first venture into the world of ' rails seating ' which has now replaced the terrace ? We've got tickets at home for Lincoln ( 20th August ) another rail strike day & the 1st ones had London Road & not Weston Homes Stadium on so they sent a 2nd lot which they've now decided doesn't exist so we're now on the 3rd lot which is situated near the delightfully sounding vomitory area , oh dear .
Not entirely sure what to expect this weekend. Wycombe beat us twice last season and the season before if I'm not mistaken so they're definitely a decent side. Hopefully an improved performance this week, I felt Ipswich controlled things last Saturday, particularly in the second half. Young Connor Bradley on loan from Liverpool looked lively down the right-hand side. Would like to see Keiran Sadlier get a start, the man is a baller. How I hope we'll line up: -------Trafford----- --Jones--Santos--Johnson--John ---------MJ Williams------ --Bradley--Morley---Sadlier-- -------Charles--Dapo----
Fleetwood away for Argyle. Hopefully something better than our last two visits: a 5-1 thumping during the lockdown season, and last season somehow drawing 3-3 despite being 3-1 up with two minutes to play. Eight renditions of Captain Pugwash. No more, please.
When the red red robin goes bob bob bobbing along ***** *** ******* Did you go last Saturday ? If so what did you think from an outsider's point of view regarding our child goalkeeper ? Cheers
He had no chance with either of the goals and made a very good save in the second half after Posh had gone ahead. Other than that, I didn't really notice him.
The rookie keeper Dickinson starts again today as we still haven't signed a number one keeper because Man U are messing us about over Bishop, time Ainsworth looked elsewhere i'm sure Chelsea must have plenty of keepers on their books.
Some rumours surfacing yesterday that the rails seating wasn't fully installed or a certificate issued & people have only been allowed into LRE at 2.15 today , glad we're waiting until 2 weeks time to make an appearance . On the pitch looks like McCann's ditched the 4-3-3 for a 3-4-1-2 , good move , with Clarke-Harris & Marriott two of the last 5 golden boot winners in this league up top .
Happy with our first half could be 3 or 4 up really. Making it difficult for Wycombe to do anything at all, however, I'm still not taking them too lightly.
Sounds like we have Christian Walton to thank for the three points today. Dominated the game but a few shaky moments where some world class saves kept us in front.
Fair play you played against a rookie keeper and 2 wingers as right and left backs and our right back playing as a central defender. Nobody to blame but Ainsworth who like us fans know we need a decent keeper and 2 central defenders, hopefully our owner gives him a kick up the arse after this shit show.
3-0 , could have been more but our on loan Chelsea GK made quality saves in both halves & new lad & scorer of our 3rd Kyprianou getting rave reviews whereas the ref Dean Whitestone demoted to this league after the Hull penalty fiasco last week made a cock up with one for us which I hope the show on highlights later . Two away days to Plymouth coming up , I expect a 2nd string team & a spanking in the League Cup on Wednesday where we've been ko'd in round 1 last 7/8 seasons & then a 50/50 league match next Saturday .
I knew about your keeper but didn't realise your defence was that messed up. We were just on it today which won't always be the case, certainly not in the return fixture. If we'd have had Dion Charles today it could've been a whole lot worse. A new keeper, couple more new faces in maybe and I am sure you will be fine, still tipping you for a playoff push. Wycombe are a physical side who will always cause teams problems. I have a lot of time for them, good club. Best of luck for rest of the season!
Cheers mate i've always liked Bolton and want them to do well after your crap owners f*cked the club big time just not against us.. Come the game at Adams Park i'm sure we'll give you a much harder game. I can see you challenging for the play offs this season.
