Well your welcome everyone Below. Manager cost us that by changing too much of the attack. Typical town. Beat good sides. Lose against shite ones
He’s clearly not interested anymore like most of our squad as they know they’re all getting binned off, handy as we won’t be able to afford them in NLS.
Did not see Fylde getting a result there, fair play to them. Our game against them on Saturday is huge, they’ll go above us if they beat us. Definitelt looking like 2 out of ourselves, Wealdstone, Maidenhead, Woking, Dagenham, Fylde and Braintree for the drop to join Boston and Ebbsfleet.
3 defeats in 3 games since the appointment was confirmed and 1 win in 5 if you include his caretaker games, that win was against Ebbsfleet. Sigh.
Meanwhile for us tonight, we put out a strong side in the Hampshire Senior Cup and won 6-1 at Tadley. Good to see Luke Jenkins back in the team, think he’ll be important in the run-in. Someone on shotsweb reporting that Josh Barrett’s picked up a hamstring injury which would be devastating for us.
Huge win. Still looking at 8th rather than top at the minute but the next 2 are solihull and altrincham. 6 points from those (unlikely) and we are comfortable in the top 7 again. Id take 4 now tbh
Fylde didn't deserve to win tonight, but showed great resilience . Last 30mins was attack vs defence on the whole, post hit, numerous corners by us. Keeper was a shithouse but also excellent. The whole keeper injury rule does my head in. Their keeper literally did it three times feigning injury to break up momentum for 4/5mins at a time. Perfectly legal to do of course, but absolute shithousery of the highest order.
Barrett seemed absolutely fine when he rounded the keeper in the last minute, albeit frustrated that Ryan Jones put it in so he didn't get the goal. Given we had an unused sub I think he was absolutely fine. Another professional job from us, nice to see us taking the cup seriously and using it for a little squad rotation. Still in a situation where we could win a cup treble and still be relegated!
Very impressive three points given 5 of the players who were in the first 11 in December have either left or are out injured. Rossiter, Pett, Worthington and Pritchard all look like they can cover Conlon and Clucas to varying degrees and Leake looks great cover on the left of defence. Just need a striker now to support the current pairing and I’ll feel as though we can kick on again.
That was a frustrating watch. We came out of the blocks and probably should've scored in the first minute. Kept that up for about 10 mins, didn't capitalise. All ifs and buts but an early goal might have completely changed that result. No goal though and we then looked second best for the rest of the night. No complaints on the result. Oldham looked decent to me. Which always seems to be the case when you see their fans bemoaning a run of poor form before they play us ! I'd say it's only them and Southend to come to Spotland and look better than us on the day so far. Thought their #20 Caprice had a really good game. And Fondop is obviously in a great run of form. I do though think Jim was naive with our subs. Rodney a passenger for that game and should've been whipped at HT for me. Allarakhia looked bright when he game on but about 20 mins too late for me. Same with Henderson. Give him a full half and he'll create, give him a 5 minute cameo and it's all a bit pointless... Like our result.
Genuinely think your the first to say this season thst we looked better than you. We aint pretty week on week but excluding january we have been grinding out ugly wins. This was 3 points i hadnt pencilled in although we do tend to do very well at spotland. The sheer number of fans we take had got to be an advantage
We can’t seem to win games, only 1 in 12. On the basis of needing another 8/9 wins, think we are toast. Gibson will need to be some miracle worker if we survive.
Was worrying we might see a dodgy goalkeeping display after having to chuck a young loanee in who only met the team two hours before kick off. We did end up seeing a dodgy goalkeeping display, but luckily for us it was from Justham. Feel like we were in control for the majority of that, a good away performance and big improvement on recent games. Having McCann back fit is big for us, as was seeing McAllister back on form. Honourable mention to Cardwell who despite not scoring many goals is a brilliant worker, bloke runs everywhere linking up our attacking play and pressurising defenders.
Agreed on that (unfortunately) having watched most of your game, seen a few of them recently including both vs Dagenham & that was your best display. Flicked over to Rochdale v Oldham after your 2nd. They had a bit of pressure before your 2nd goal but your quality showed through going & scoring at the other end during that spell, McAllister a class above most games I've seen him although we managed to keep him quiet at least. Professional display overall - it's going to the end isn't it!
Has been given shit new contract offer or told to look somewhere else for a club by the new director of football. Him, Eastman, Hessenthaler and Josh Rees are being treated like shit, with them likely all leaving end of season. Do that to your senior group and its no wonder really. We've made him shit.
Last night was turgid. As I tweeted, Tamworth were bad and yet Wealdstone and the referee were somehow worse. Ironically I actually think we'll have a better shot to pick up points against Gateshead on Saturday. On that refereeing display, incompetent doesn't even begin to cut it. I worked it out as 5 free kicks he gave Tamworth for handball, when there was only one handball amongst them.
