Q&A tonight involving Raul Sanllehi, Vinai Venkatesham and Edu The main point being driven home it seems is Edu and Emery are not and will not be held accountable for what happens this summer. Edu's job effectively starts in September and Emery is not involved in what offers are or aren't made. Sanllehi and Vinal are happy to take the flak for this summer it seems. Vinai has also denied claims of a £40m budget, saying this number has never come from himself or Sanllehi and that we can't go into negotiations with selling teams knowing how much money we have. Also claims a lot of misinformation about Arsenal in the media. They say they won't implement safe standing until it's legalised by the government and the correct studies are carried out. A lot of transfer specific questions were thrown at them but they batted them away as expected. Questions like will there be any other recruitment at centre-back, why can we not agree a £25m deal for Tierney etc etc.....I don't know why people ask these questions, they'll never get a public answer. Seems to be a battle between the men in suits and the fans about optimism. There's genuine optimism to make Arsenal better from Vinai, Sanllehi and Edu but the fans are a bit jaded and full of scepticism and it's produced some difference of opinion at the meeting. Sanllehi pleading for patience and objectivity. When asked, Vinai says the short term ambition is to get back into the CL and openly admits he doesn't think Arsenal can win the PL this season (no shit Sherlock )
