We're not as good as last year. The team needed a boost in close season and we were given little.

We won't be in Europe next season, so we won't have this distraction.

Very week team and never expected anything else to be honest. Our league form is the priority at the minute so being able to rest key players for Monday nights visit to Fulham was a good situation to be in.

Cisse has two perfectly good goals chalked off.

    Ridiculous.

Yep. He also missed 2 sitters.

We should be going there with a 4-0 lead.

1 up with 20 to go.

Looking good for a trip to Russia or Hannover.

It was a good performance with some new faces looking like they're fitting in. Young Haidara really shone going forward as well as defending. I'd have him in the team on Sunday.

I really fancy us to reach the semis at worst in this competition.

Would quite happily take 4 bottom in the league as well and reach the final.

Agreed Len, but I think we'll get out of trouble in the league by about 8-10 points. So we should plough literally everything we've got into keeping this going. Confidence is up with our superb January signings.

No wonder the Europa league has such a bad reputation, this has been absolute rubbish

I know. There hasn't even been a sending off, followed by the sight of a rambling old man staggering over to the officials to complain about something funny happening on the pitch.

The comedy has gone out of these European games .... Well since Tuesday night when it was funny as hell ....

Bit harsh to judge it on one game TBF.

Never going to be a classic.

Spurs have had some decent games for example.

That's a cracking result for Newcastle. I guess the only disappointment would be not getting an away goal but not many sides will go to Russia and get a result.

Hope you boys progress on Thursday.
Barring a ridiculous collapse we should be joining you.
