Having looked up the remit it started under in 2020, "The team will target terrorists, war criminals, sex offenders, and "other fraudsters", the DOJ said." Fair enough.
If that were to happen it would be blatant racism without any pretence of 'America first' or any other puerile slogans.
Under project 2025 anyone who distributes pornography will be deemed a sex offender. Materials that acknowledge the existence of LGBTQI+ people is regarded as pornography.
It's not 'fair enough.' Even these types of criminals are US citizens and are protected by all the rights that comes with it. So if they get the injection for what they do, so be it, but they are Americans and should be treated as such. This is the party that runs under the guise and promise of limited government, yet is displaying incredible overreach to its own citizens.
I don't believe project 2025 will come to pass, I believe it to be more scaremongering. If it looks like it is coming to pass then i'll adjust my opinion accordingly. Strongly disagree. Just because somebody gains citizenship I think it's absolutely right that it can be revoked, providing they have another citizenship in a nation they can be deported to. You mean the democratically elected President of the United States?
I'm fine with disagreeing on this, but a lot of times they don't. Once you gain US Citizenship, you have to renounce your country of origin. You can apply back for dual citizenship later on, but once you're an American citizen, you're an American citizen. Source: I went through this process and am no longer considered Filipino as I have not applied for dual citizenship since I received American citizenship.
You've gone from arguing against illegal immigrants to now arguing against legal and constitutionally protected immigrant turned citizens. You will not adjust your opinion, you'll just make excuses as you currently are. Actually, do tell me lines I could use with Trump's police forces. You're excellent at sucking up to the guy/being subservient, your lines will probably help keep me alive/out of trouble.
Lots of very very rapey "your body, my choice" posts on twitter... well done America and also general internet for allowing this nonsense Andrew Tate and Jordan Peterson manosphere subculture to not be laughed away like the pathetic loser perennial virgin nonsense it is.
If folks aren't gearing up for a second civil war, they're naive. Trump will push for something morally reprehensible, a blue state or all blue states will reject it, Trump will then send in the army and there you have it.
I caveated in case you took it as me referring to what I said about your interaction with Zippy in the Israel thread, because it does back the point I made in that thread - you as site admin debating Zippy's points seriously lends them credibility and legitimizes/normalizes all of Zippy's talking points, including the extreme ones, even if you disagree with them (which I know you do and wasn't saying otherwise). It's basically how not just the far-right but even non-political extreme ideas like flat earthers have been normalized since 2015, so I just don't see it as an effective policy/stance (maybe less so for a forum, but not entirely). But, I didn't respond to retread an old argument, but because I've got something to add to the point about social media and Trump's support that I didn't mention earlier, and something which @smogtilldeath mentioned on election day about the Harris campaign using identity politics. Factually, that just isn't true, her campaign made almost no mention to her background/identity after the start of the campaign. If anything, it was Trump who played more identity politics given him pointing out she's mixed race in front of Black voters, and constantly running ads painting Harris as someone obsessed with trans rights (she all but ignored it during the campaign). So why does this perception stick? Social media's obsession with far-right rhetoric making people work themselves into a frenzy over something untrue. It's not just Twitter either, there are so many random anti-woke comments on random Youtube videos and Instagram posts too.
fair enough with the misconception about the campaigning . As I said in the Ukraine thread , there needs to be a much stronger response to misinformation on the web . I still believe the west is still too ****ing weak in how it is dealing with Russia . We’ve been tolerating this shit for 14 + years and seem unable to find a solution on it One of the things I would look to tackle is finding the sources of the bot farms and try and deploy some malware that attacks them. I’ve always said to my colleagues that given that our social media is banned in Russia and the likes of China , there is no reason to enable ips from that region to access it . I appreciate spoofing of ips will occur , but I do believe it will reduce volume of traffic of bot farms and trolls
I'm not attempting to speak for @TAFKAP here, but speaking as a fellow admin we try to keep all views/opinions available, even if we vehemently disagree with them. If we deleted stuff/banned members we didn't agree with it would cease to be a forum and become just an echo chamber, so we try to allow content that doesn't descend into abuse/libel/illegality or a repetitive loop where everyone makes statements and refuses to concede an inch. The latter one is the most difficult.
Looking at trumps vote numbers , it looks like his vote numbers are the same as in 2020. The democrat vote has essentially collapsed . He’s maybe up half a percentage point to 2020 we know 76 million will vote for him no matter what anyway
