I disagree. Shouldn’t win the award based on sentiment, I think Sterling should get it, but Kjaer definitely deserve danish version of MBE.

Was tongue in cheek TBH, but he should definitely get some sort of special recognition from UEFA.

I don’t want to knock Sterling’s contribution for us this tournament because I really don’t think we’d be where we are if he wasn’t playing but.. all this player of the tournament seems a bit excessive to me. He’s only played well against Ukraine and Denmark, IMO, and that’s now out his name in contention for the whole tournament? Seems a bit too much but I guess knock out games will hold more weight even if they’re nicer fixtures then others had to play.

He was absolutely key in the German game as well. Scored 4 goals without being our main goal threat. If it’s excessive, which players have been head and shoulders above him?

Is that official? Was actually going to mention him but assumed a 'keeper wouldn't get it. He is class and a man mountain tbf.

He got an award at the end that I assumed was goalkeeper of the tournament but it's official here

And yes, he is class. Picking a stand out player from that Italian side is difficult, if Spinazzola hadn't got injured I'd have put money that he would have won though.

The penalty saves would have helped I suspect .

What if we had won and he’d had a shocker ?!

    Pickford probably I guess .

Or would have gone down the well trodden route of the guy who scored the winner if there had been one .

Best goalie by a mile and imho will be the worlds best in a few years, when Alisson retires ; )

Always thought he looked decent but a bit dodgy in the past, but this tournies he's been superb.

Looking at him during then pens its hardly surprising 3 of our pens were shockers, I'd hate to be facing him taking a pen, seems to fill the entire goal up

I've rated him for years, I'm a bit sad he's gone to PSG instead of staying in Italy. He started off incredible and went through a bit of a dodgy patch but yeah as you say he's been superb.

It looked as though something clicked for him this season. He was very good, and he's been a beast in this tournament. Still has a few bad tendencies, but he's right on track now to becoming what people hoped he would be.

Think Sterling was probably favourite pre-game.

    Happened in the 2002WC.

Oliver Khan won it over Ronaldo because they voted on it before the final, then made 2 clangers in the final while Ronaldo scored twice.

    Think Donnarruma deserved it.
I think 3 of the 4 best outfield players were all at LWB this tournament which is very surprising with Maehle, Spinnazzola and Shaw.
Best player overall I'd say was Verratti
