    I disagree. Shouldn’t win the award based on sentiment, I think Sterling should get it, but Kjaer definitely deserve danish version of MBE.

    Was tongue in cheek TBH, but he should definitely get some sort of special recognition from UEFA.

    I don’t want to knock Sterling’s contribution for us this tournament because I really don’t think we’d be where we are if he wasn’t playing but.. all this player of the tournament seems a bit excessive to me. He’s only played well against Ukraine and Denmark, IMO, and that’s now out his name in contention for the whole tournament? Seems a bit too much but I guess knock out games will hold more weight even if they’re nicer fixtures then others had to play.

    He was absolutely key in the German game as well. Scored 4 goals without being our main goal threat. If it’s excessive, which players have been head and shoulders above him?

    Is that official? Was actually going to mention him but assumed a 'keeper wouldn't get it. He is class and a man mountain tbf.

    He got an award at the end that I assumed was goalkeeper of the tournament but it's official here

    And yes, he is class. Picking a stand out player from that Italian side is difficult, if Spinazzola hadn't got injured I'd have put money that he would have won though.

    Best goalie by a mile and imho will be the worlds best in a few years, when Alisson retires ; )

    Always thought he looked decent but a bit dodgy in the past, but this tournies he's been superb.

    Looking at him during then pens its hardly surprising 3 of our pens were shockers, I'd hate to be facing him taking a pen, seems to fill the entire goal up :laugh:

    I've rated him for years, I'm a bit sad he's gone to PSG instead of staying in Italy. He started off incredible and went through a bit of a dodgy patch but yeah as you say he's been superb.

    It looked as though something clicked for him this season. He was very good, and he's been a beast in this tournament. Still has a few bad tendencies, but he's right on track now to becoming what people hoped he would be.

    Happened in the 2002WC.

    Oliver Khan won it over Ronaldo because they voted on it before the final, then made 2 clangers in the final while Ronaldo scored twice.

    Think Donnarruma deserved it.
    I think 3 of the 4 best outfield players were all at LWB this tournament which is very surprising with Maehle, Spinnazzola and Shaw.
    Best player overall I'd say was Verratti
