One of those faces you've seen in loads of films without being able to put a name to it, but for me his career highlight had to be as Sergeant Foley in An Officer and a Gentleman for which he won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar.

    Rest in Peace.

Good grief. Remember him and the Crazy Gang. Ruffled a few feathers did Wimbledon with their style of play, aggression and not forgetting beating many of the bigger teams. RIP fella.

Peter Higgs, a giant of British science who came up with the idea of the Higgs boson particle, has died aged 94.

He was awarded the Nobel prize for Physics in 2013 for his revolutionary work showing how the boson helps bind the Universe together.

A statement from Edinburgh university said he died in the city on Monday.

It called him a "truly gifted scientist whose vision and imagination have enriched our knowledge of the world that surrounds us".

Prof Brian Cox paid tribute to Higgs on X (formerly known as Twitter): "I was fortunate enough to meet him several times, and beyond being a famous physicist - I think to his embarrassment at times - he was always charming and modest.

"His name will be remembered as long as we do physics in the form of the Higgs Boson."

In the 1960s Higgs and other physicists worked on an idea to explain why the building blocks of the Universe have mass.

Incredibly he kept working to the extent that there are three movies being released posthumously with him in them.

    OJ Simpson has died
Not going to he much sympathy worldwide for him I would imagine

Former NFL star O.J. Simpson has died aged 76 after a battle with cancer, his family have announced.

A statement posted on his social media accounts said: "On April 10th, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer.

"He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren. During this time of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace."

Simpson had reportedly been battling prostate cancer. Back in February, he shut down reports he was in a hospice posting on social media.
