It was an entirely pointless exercise but then that fits nicely with the Premier League experience as that in itself is entirely pointless

No match thread, so will stick it here. Feels like a must-win for Luton tonight.

If anything the decisions against us have been worse since he came in.

    Coincidence perhaps...

I just think the appointment of an ex-ref to analyse the ref's performances against us just got the PGMOL's back up. IMO they closed ranks once the appointment was made.

Should be Forest safe with that win really. They had just enough more quality to see themselves through.

I don't see how today means we should be safe. We have 2 matches that most would expect us to lose whilst Luton are away at West Ham and at home to Fulham - 2 teams with notoriously iffy form at the moment

Luton can't beat an egg though. Think that'll be it now.

    Burnley certainly look gone.

West ham v Luton. West ham have given up amd just waiting for moyes to be sacked imo. Huge game now and must win.

Forest v chelsea comes after Luton play so forest know they only have to match Luton to be safe. It'll be tense unless Luton lose.

I couldn't call this forest one as forest know what they need but chelsea are going for 7th and must win.

I reckon Webb will arrange another pen against forest for Palmer.

You’ll be favourites for Burnley away too. I just don’t see Luton winning twice in a row when on a really poor run of form themselves. I don’t think you need another point.

They only need match Luton and have home advantage against one of the most inconsistent clubs in the league that only play well when they can counter.

Sit deep v chelsea as they need to win the gsme to stay in fight for the title of 2nd worst "sky 6" club

Still not confident - all down to what Luton can do at West Ham now really, barring a freak win for Burnley at Spurs.

the points deduction is a harsh punishment now as we’d be mathematically safe without it.

It's not in the least bit harsh given your club didn what it did knowingly and just didn't expect a real punishment.

    Same for Everton.

However you should be very confident as its fully in your own hands to stay up as you've a home gsme to match Luton in next week and a vastly superior gd.

Not only that but you've a game against a side thst will be down already just to finish it off next season

It’s not really a punishment if they only apply it in situations where it doesn’t matter?

The other way to look at it is that you probably would have gone down last year if you hadn’t overspent so much - so is it harsh on you or the teams who finished below you?

The three teams with squad values of hundreds of millions of pounds more than us? And all of whom made bigger PSR allowed losses than us? It’s fairly ludicrous to suggest we had a competitive advantage over them.

You could make an argument that we had a competitive advantage over Bournemouth & Fulham, but given they both finished above us and we beat neither that’s a fairly moot point, and they’d both invested previous prem money and parachute payments into their accounts.

I think the rule is designed to stop an oil sheikh buying a club amd spending 2.billion to get promoted and go from there

However as much as I'd agree that you didn't do thst your club still knew their exact obligations, had the chance to avoid the breech and didn't

Brennan Johnson has been trending ever since Spurs went 1 down today and not for good reason. Go and read some of what Spurs fans think of him and you will realise that, irrelevant of bullshit rules by a bullshit organisation, we should be being praised massively for having the balls to hold out for more money for Johnson when the reality is he wasn't worth what Brentford were offering for him, let alone what Spurs spent on him. There is no other industry in the world that would view maximising the value of an asset as a negative thing
