Think that’s the main worry for us - although we are “less” terrible away this year than last. Last season our points split was 30 H 8 A, this year it’s 20 H 10 A with 3 of the bottom 5 left to play.
Probably not safe just yet, only 5 points, but it’s very unlikely they’ll go down yes. Forest have been good enough of late that I think they’ll stay up. Luton just look a little spent - small squad and injuries catching up on them. Gave it a really good go though.
Yeah, Luton look gone now unfortunately, did far better than I expected, thought they were nailed on the bottom side.
which firm of barristers are forest appointing? would city's like to give the premier league a preview of what's to come? maybe city should pay for forest's case even
This season the set of Championship promotion clubs has been one of the most pathetic for a long long time. And yet you'd still fancy at least Burnley to come straight back up.
Beat Sheff Utd and you will most likely be fine. And by "fine" I mean you will get to wallow in the misery of yet another season of absolute shite getting pounded by everyone before your inevitable relegation at some point in the next few years.
Personally think we’re going down after yesterday’s performance and the way fixtures have fallen. Think Luton will get 4-7 points and we’ll get 2-3. We need to win at Brammall Lane (of which I’m not confident) and somehow beat Chelsea I think to be confident of safety. City game is a write off and we haven’t won at Turf Moor since the dawn of time (we usually lose 3-5 nil there). IF somehow Luton screw up their home games we might cling on but they’ve beaten Everton twice already this season (and they were terrible yesterday even in victory), and Fulham on the beach final day couldn’t pick a much nicer fixture for them. Small chance Burnley gazump us both - assuming they beat us final day (likely) they need 1-3 points from their home game v Newcastle, or a shock win at Old Trafford - neither likely but not impossible.
I think Luton are running out of steam. I’d be surprised if they got more than one win. Surely you’ll pick up enough in your games with Sheff and Burnley.
I’ll be very surprised if we beat both. This far into the season the only games against bottom half teams we’ve won were an injury time winner at home to Sheff U in August, and the recent home win vs a beachy Fulham. 5 wins against top half teams. Our only real strength is counterattacking football against moderately disinterested opponents, who don’t bother to set up properly to stop our only way of attacking. Very similar half arsed performances from Newcastle, Villa, United, Fulham & West Ham when we beat them all - like they’d never seen us play or done any research at all. Any teams which identify and exploit our weaknesses - specifically a total inability to retain possession for longer than 60 seconds, especially if pressed high, and defending crosses, have totally shut us down with some ease (the Everton game yesterday was a good example). It may be that Sheff U are bad enough that we can beat them, but a high scoring draw or even narrow defeat would not surprise me. I’ll be surprised honestly if we beat Burnley - terrible record against them, they played us off the park at the CG & should have won but for a dodgy VAR ruled out goal. Mayyybe if they have a defensive calamity or two but they’re significantly better on the ball than us when I’ve watched them. We needed to beat Palace or Wolves really, or win one of Brentford, Luton, Everton away - those results have likely done for us I think.
you've asked for audio from the defeat at Goodison, I heard Everton will appeal and get some of their docked points back! but seriously I think far too many 'questions' are being asked of VAR and maybe clubs need to stop turning to PGMOL etc and questioning each and every decision grinds their gears. No one will accept VAR whilst it is openly and very publicly subject to scrutiny by all and sundry, if managers go OTT in criticism of referees it is very much dealt with (sanctions, albeit poxy) and VAR is another branch of the same company I know most fans would happily draw a line through VAR with the largest sharp implement they can find ie get shot, but just seems like all want to blame it for everything. I've said many many times, although not many if any times on here, best way to not be on the wrong end of a bad decision or two is not to rely on them going your way those at the bottom of the table aren't there because VAR has it in for them, it's because they don't win enough games and if survival is based on having VAR 'onside' then you are kidding yourselves or maybe more hiding from the fact that relegation is down to the sides that suffer it more than anything else
No mate, it’s a cartel, conspiracy, corruption, the media are bowing to the Premier League’s will, Forest’s owner is fighting a worthy cause. The narratives around at the moment are absurd. It’s so ridiculous it’s unbelievable. If any of it were true, it wouldn’t be Forest on the receiving end of it! Big bad Luton, Brentford, Brighton trying to keep the status quo. Only big clubs like us allowed up here And while Forest may claim to be on this crusade, let’s just remember they were one of the clubs who voted against the EFL deal, trying their best to pull up the drawbridge behind them. Acting now like they’ve got football’s best interests at heart when they cheated to gain an advantage and got caught, and voted against rules that would have given more of the PL’s money to the EFL. Do they bollocks have anyone’s best interests at heart, it’s just self-interest and deflection for their bad decision making since coming up.
If all the clubs hate VAR that much they should all come out together and decry it. Not just when it goes against them. It's been poor for everyone but some act like they have been the only ones affected
