Mowbray is obviously still our first choice, but dependant on his health I’d love us to be linked with Rosenior.
Wonder if he’ll do a swap with Bulut. No contract agreed yet and apparently Bulut is on friendly terms with their Turkish owners and has managed Fenerbace and Alanyaspor.
Even by the standards of modern football, it's an astonishing decision for me. I spent nearly five years working in East Yorkshire in my 20s and still keep an eye out for Hull's results because of that and the old school City fans who I was lucky enough to get to know during that time. The job Rosenior has done in turning around that club meant he should have been backed, not sacked. I hope this doesn't come back to haunt the owners but I really wouldn't be shocked if it did.
Would it include spending money on releasing them from their contracts? If the answer is yes then we will not be approaching either of them. Good day to you both.
Awful decision. The kind of thing that makes black managers think they're the victim of racism. Not suggesting that is the case but it looks like a dreadful decision. Could it be worrying for your finances if your owners are clearly angry enough about missing out on the playoffs that they've decided to sack him after you've had a very good season by your recent standards? Makes me suspicious that they might have over spent a bit trying to get promotion and there was a bit more riding on you reaching the playoffs than meets the eye?
It’s not like they missed out by loads . Sure must be frustrating but would have thought it was a good platform to build from .
In January we signed Fabio Carvalho, Anass Zazoury, and Ryan Giles from the Premier League on loan + Omur for a fee. Now I doubt Zazoury and Giles were on anything obscene for the Championship, but Carvalho no doubt cost a lot to bring in. Some of our fans are hoping we can attract Potter. It shows that some of them are still completely spoiled from the Premier League days. We haven't challenged the upper regions of this division and the Premier League in 7 years...we are past being in the parachute circle. From the statement, it appears they had "differences in the club's vision". A vague enough statement that could mean anything. I suppose we'll see this summer. I doubt it will get that bad as we will be able to sell Jacob Greaves for 10m+. That should cover any issues, barring silly wages that we don't know about.
Hoping we get clarification on Mowbray, sooner than later because it’s important we start the rebuild asap. I want to know the direction the club is going in before the end of this month.
Not if it was up to me, I'd be paying for his transport to Stoke and hotel expenses during negotiations
I was hoping we'd go for Rosenior when we sacked Heckingbottom so I'm baffled by that. Must be more to it than just missing out on the playoffs.
Wow wasnt expecting that, they were one of the better teams we played and showed good fight against Ipswich, giving us one of the best games of the season.
Acun in interviews has stated that he wants attacking football. The January signings were meant to help achieve that, but Rosenior's footballing philosophy clashed with his. Hence why the decision was made. Time will tell if this is the right decision. I'm seeing names like Danny Rohl and Tim Walter mentioned.
I think everyone wants to see attacking football at their club but managers seem to cope the Pep Barca/Man City style pass it around the back forever!
That’s a bit bizarre. Hull played good attacking football against us in both games. Don’t really know how much more attacking a team could be. Maybe those games were outliers.
