Tom Cleverley appointed permanent manager .

Hopefully the Pozzos just haven’t done it because the Twitter/X and WO crew demanded they did after some good performances and will actually back Tom with time and recruitment .

The powers that be actually believe Clev can be a success .

wouldn't hold your breath, last manager of Watford to reach 100 games.......................? (answer a bit further down)

[Aidy Boothroyd March 2005 to November 2008, 176 games although Mackay came close with 99 falling short of the hundred in June 2011]

Believe it or not - between June 1997 and November 2008 Watford had just FOUR managers, three managed 150+ games and the other for 52. Four managers in 11 years, these days it would be much the reverse, 11 managers in four years - and whilst I may have been "making that up" initially I just checked and between April 2020 and April 2024 that's EXACTLY how many Watford had....

Oxford English Dictionary would like a word with Watford's board over the meaning and usage of the word 'permanent'.

Give them the benefit of the doubt on one as Mowbray left due to ill health .

Get it right, it's six, and only one really did the damage, taking us from sixth to the depths over the course of a third of the season. It didn't help that we took too long to get Rowett to take over as caretaker Mark Venus was in charge for six games and never won one (he lost five).

    Hull sacked Rosenior?

Looks unbelievably harsh from the outside.

That's Rosenior sacked. Gutted...suppose missing out on the playoffs was the deciding factor.

On paper our January signings must have a pretty penny. Hit or miss for those players in the end.

Busy window player wise and we will now have a new manager to bed in. Could go right or horribly wrong.

He was shortlisted for Championship Manager of the Year

From the outside looking in that seems extremely harsh, especially considering the strength of the teams that came down last year. This years crop look a lot weaker so you’d have thought he’d have been given time.

Very strange move but presume the target was top 6 after spending a bit of money ?

Rosenior earlier on this year said he and the owner get on well.

    Obviously not for long !

How much did they spend? Seems harsh but as others have mentioned, if the owners backed him and he fell short then it makes sense (kind of).

Must have someone else lined up already. You would think they would give him 10 games into next season to make sure they are on target for play offs; but I guess they don't want a new manager to not have time to do a pre season and get his own players in.

Wonder if Liam Rosenior enjoyed the Home Park atmosphere on Saturday? We have a vacancy after all :hmmm

Don’t imagine he’ll be short of suitors.

    Sunderland, Plymouth, Birmingham even?

Anyway I don’t think he’ll be the last. Depending on the playoff result I can certainly see a few more following him.

Weird , Hull play some good football & from the outside looking in you've had a good season missing out on play offs by 1 or 2 games .

Any early rumours on who the new ( probably Turkish ) person in charge will be ?

Rosenior back at Derby would be a good fit & probably better than Warne who like Fergie despite having a small budget is a serial failure in the Championship .
