Gorgeous weather today and for Friday and Saturday. Going to get off my backside tomorrow and get front and back gardens tidied up.
Friday evening, finished work for the weekend, it's Mothers Day here on Sunday and we've been flat out all week so I've bought a nice couple of Victorian wines to drink tonight. Having not had a drop for a few days I just know after two glasses I'll be heading to my bed..
I went to the opticians on Thursday for an eye test and the new test involves going in and the 3d camera checks the back of your eye for growths and such and another checks for any Macular Degeneration and then they take you into another room to ascertain what kind of lenses you require. Anyway he tested my vision and then said I'd just like you to go back into the first room with my colleague for another quick test. Instantly the @rse drops out of me and I'm like 'why is there anything wrong' ,no he says with a smile on his face this is just a procedure to check your peripheral vision ,your eyes are perfectly healthy and have actually improved since your last visit. I can tell you the relief in that room was tangible after fearing he had found something. I'm buzzing ,pick my new gigs up at 2pm ,but f*ck me can they find a better method of testing ,maybe do all the tests before you go into the final room ? I think it would save a lot of people from dropping into cardiac arrest believing they're going blind ?
Wear glasses and thankfully they have never done that to me when had a checkup. Saturday night and been roped into watching Eurovision. Four songs in and ready to pray for a power cut.
Currently laid in a big bath at The Grand in York as my Wife and I are both on holiday together so we woke up this morning and said **** it let’s go away for the night and ended up in York at this magnificent hotel. We stayed here just before Christmas too so we knew it was amazing but i’d forgotten just how great it was. Our last couple of times in York we’ve gone out to The Ivy but this time we’re just gonna order Room service and stay in the hotel. Very very happy.
Cut the grass at last as was quite long after all the rain we have had. Garden looks like Wembley stadium now. Just had a penalty shootout in the garden with the little lad. Sadly I lost 5-3 but all good fun.
I'm off to Wells cathedral tonight for over 2 hours of opera arias i can't wait,i'll have some gin and tonics at home before i get dressed up for what should be an amazing evening.
