so what show have I missed that fills in the gaps between these series. episode 2 has stuff that can only be explained by some form of cartoon or other such show? give me a hint. the first show is good but it does seem to assume everyone knows the back story of the two characters and perhaps the protagonist's.
Disney plus. New star wars series thats much anticipated. ahsoka is the apprentice of anikin skywalker in the clone wars cartoon series she turns up in cameo in the mandalorian. I'm missing what's gone in between the events of clone wars and this as there's 20 years between or something more in than that.
Star Wars Rebels apparently where the story comes from, its been on my 'mildly interested in watching' list for a while
Loved the first couple of episodes. Seeing Lothal and various Rebels characters in live action was amazing as it’s one of my favourite pieces of Star Wars. Got high hopes for where this series will go and how it will lead up to Filoni’s film in the future
TBF most of them have been pretty good, but maybe not for everybody? I'm not a lover of the Disney empire, but I have enjoyed the spin off series (live action ones)
I’m not 100% sure to be honest. I’ve seen a lot of people online saying that they didn’t watch rebels but they felt fully up to speed with Ahsoka. There’s subtleties that are definitely in there for the avid fan, but not to the detriment of the wider audience. I reckon if you just watched the last episode of Rebels to give you an idea who Thrawn and Ezra are and why Sabine, Hera and Ahsoka are looking for them that should suffice. There’s new backstory in these first episodes (between Ahsoka and Sabine) that happens between that show and this one, so it’s completely new to me too
So I watched the Star war rebels. you've got to watch that to know who the hell hera is and why she's important. There's links into andor with Mon mothma etc and it will ink to mandalorian as well. Sabine is 100% rebels right? rebels simply doesn't deal at all with any training for sabine by ahsoka. there a missing part as to why the two don't get along. this seems to just pick up the cartoon plot "some years" after the rebellions picks up pace. Rebels is set pre rouge 1 movie basically then the 3 original star wars movies come in to play. then we get Mandalorian and now Ahsoka seems to pick up there. Basically Mandalorian mentions the return of Thrawn and ahsoka is set up to follow this thread.... theres just some gaps left in the story. I'm seen episode 3 and theres a few clear questions that could be spoilers Spoiler: spolier Where does ahsoka get the ship and droid? seems a fairly important development given nobody was around to train any jedi Where did ahsoka and sabine pick up in terms of training and falling out. Why is sabine still extremely young looking given we had the events of movie 4, 5 and 6 which had to be over time due to build of a death star etc. Why would a general that vanished years before governor tarquin blew up alderan be so important anyway?
Becoming like Marvel really. I'm at the point now where I'm only watching Star Wars projects written by Tony Gilroy.
I lost interest in the franchise half way through the last films. 7 was pretty much a remake of the original with a few characters swapped rind, and I didn’t even manage to finish the next film. It’s weird because I absolutely loved Star Wars as a kid. And even really liked the middle lot of films as well
I’ve added in a few pointers for you Rambler, I ended up writing far too much on your final spoiler tagged point but I honestly could’ve gone on for much longer.. apologies anyway
thanks. it explains a lot but also how Disney have left large gaps in the logic of the timeline flow.
next to watch after I finally finish watching Andor, which I am enjoying more and more as the series carries on, especially the background of Mon Mothma and the start of the Rebellion this is how the Disney shows all fit in to the films ( BBY = "Before the Battle of Yavin," ABY = "After the Battle of Yavin - i.e. end of Episode 4): Star Wars: The Acolyte (132 BBY) - yet to be released Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi (? - 18 BBY) Star Wars: The Clone Wars (22 BBY – 19 BBY*) Star Wars: The Bad Batch (19 BBY – TBD) Obi-Wan Kenobi (9 BBY) Andor (5 BBY – 0 BBY) Star Wars Rebels (5 BBY – 0 BBY*) The Mandalorian (9 ABY – TBD) Ahsoka (~ 9 ABY) Skeleton Crew (~ 9 ABY) - yet to be released Star Wars Resistance (34 ABY – 35 ABY)
Not really a spoiler as everybody knows he’s in the episode.. It was absolutely fantastic to see Hayden Christensen deliver such an amazing performance Spoiler He perfectly encapsulates the cocky, light sided Anakin from TCW with a certain swagger and the firm, dark sided Vader. As someone who loves the prequels, it’s bloody brilliant to see him finally appreciated. Dave Filoni worked very hard to direct him in a manner that explores all sides of Anakin
