All-Time Premier League Draft Attention all wannabe managers and tacticians - who'd be interested in taking part in an 'All-Time Premier League Draft'? Yes, that's right, it's where we take it in turns picking a Premier League player each, to build a team of XI players. Obviously the Premier League era began from the 1992–93 season, so you can't pick George Best or Kenny Dalglish! Rules This is how the All-Time Premier League Draft will work: In a snake draft format... Round One Manager 1 - Chooses a player Manager 2 - Chooses a player Manager 3 - Chooses a player Manager 4 - Chooses a player Manager 5 - Chooses a player Round Two Manager 5 - Chooses a player Manager 4 - Chooses a player Manager 3 - Chooses a player Manager 2 - Chooses a player Manager 1 - Chooses a player ...and so on. Hi CeilingVitaly, maybe a confusion in language: The 'time' in this case ('Premier League', formerly the 'Premiership') is defined as beginning August 1992 and ending May 2013 - thus, the full/"all" allocated time - I hope this makes sense
I was tempted to extend it back to the old English First Division, but the 'Premier League' era still has a vast pool of quality players. Depends on how many players want to play too - hoping for at least 10, maximum 20. Would it interest you?
What is the point exactly? So someone names a player out of the thousands that have played in the Premier League. Then ten more do the same so that we have an XI. Then what?
The drafting process and discussion is good fun, but once all our teams are complete we then vote for who has the 'best' team
OK, but I'm warning you, this team will take some beating. Bobby Mimms Nelson Vivas Tomas Repka Darren Moore Richard Shaw Hossam Ghaly Matty Appleby Stephen Glass Regi Blinker Paul Furlong Jan Aage Fjortoft
I'm impresed by your knowledge of the cult legEnds! This is how the All-Time Premier League Draft would work: In a snake draft format... To save it being the usual boring Man United nine players and two others, make a rule with no more than 2 or 3 from each team?
Why? Man United players will be common as they have been the best during the majority of the Premier League era....
Yes, I'm sure they'll be snapped up by most of the managers in the first few rounds Managers can't sign the same player, i.e two managers can't have Djemba-Djemba in their team. Are you guys in?
Yes, we take it in turns - you can draft whatever positions you want, and in whichever order you desire. The formation is up to you, but you must draft one goalkeeper!
