I'd love to call you a poor side and say we battered you and always will, but I can't. You did at times pass the ball around nicely (bar Bikey, what the hell.. every pass he played went to us). I guess the most respectful comment would be that we were hanging on at the end, and were worried you were going to pinch a draw.

Granted, you really are shipping goals away from home. Do you think Coyle needs to change things away from home, maybe one up top? Neither of your front two seemed to get up to much, could have dropped one and been a bit more solid. We had so much room to play in the first half.

End of the day, I think there is at least 3 teams worse than us in the league this year. :thumb

I agree with worse teams, just the confidence at home might start to slip once an away side leaves with 3 points. I am not sure it is about tactics, is really just the manner in which we ship goals - MOST this season have been down to poor marking, or bad individual errors. I still think the Caldwell/Carlisle partnership needs to be broken up, and I am unsure about Jordan at left back.

Blackburn were just better in every department today, think our only good perfoences came from Elliott, Mears and Eagles and Big Kev when they came off the bench. For me Wade Elliott was one of the best players on the pitch today.

Bikey needs to move back to center back where he can just hoof it and Coyle needs to find a way to get Eagles into the team, he's been one of our best players for a long time now off the bench and he scored today, what more can he do to earn a start?

Might sound like a stuck record but maybe sooner or later Coyle will see that playing 3 strikers away from home just isnt working at all. Once Blake scored we saw nothing from either of them. Think we looked a lot better when Fletcher went off (not making him the scapegoat btw), could have been any of the strikers for me and brought Eagles on.

In that 1st half Blackburn looked as though they were going to score everytime they went forward. Wtf was Alexander doing for their second goal:laugh: if anything he should have headed in behind for a corner not back into the middle for the Blackburn forward to head home. Yes Beast was at fault but so was Alexander on that one. We get men behind the ball but dont put anywhere near enough pressure on the other side when they've got the ball allowing them to turn and play a pass and that sort of thing shouldnt be happening, should be making them work for space. Midfield is far too lightweight and offer little or no help to the defence at any point today.

Well done Blackburn you deserved it :(

100 quid down in bets too GUTTED!

Will give my ratings for the Burnley team before I go to bed:

Jensen 3 - from the first whistle to the last he was shocking, hope it's just a one off thing because he's usually a rock
Mears 7 - another solid performance again going forward and defending
Carlisle 5 - was sleeping for the first goal and not his usual commanding self
Caldwell 5 - looked well out of sorts at times
    Jordan 7 - see Mears
Bikey 5 - looked comfortable enough on the ball but there's no excuse for his shocking passing today
Alexander 4 - granddad put in a shocker today
Fletcher 4 - was he even playing?
Elliott 8* - thought he was as good as anyone on the pitch today
Blake 6 - when he's good he's great and when he's bad he's terrible, cracking goal but he wasn't at his best
    Nugent 4 - see Fletcher

Eagles 7 - livened things up, missed some good chances and got on the score sheet, it's about time Eagles got in the starting line up again.

completly agree with that mikey,i spilt a pint down somones back when Blake put us in front but the the bloke didnt care thank god(as he was huge)
part of me new it wasnt ment to be today but it still hurts:cry:

i maybe quite pissed right now but does anyone else think today highlighted what we need to sign in january, for example i think we need a center back because the current partnership didnt look convincing today or even more so a CM so we can move bikey back in defence,we have been playing to defencive players in CM,i know its because McCann is out but we need a strong player in the middle to come in when injurys occure like this.

and my god did we miss Pato today where was Nugent he was non existant imo.

at least we achieved one thing today,we got deadwood rocking for once.
the first time the neighbours have had to insert ear plugs since 2005:coat

cant wait till march now where we will get our revenge.

Nugent needs to up his workrate quite a bit for me. Since scoring the two goals against Sunderland for me he's been really poor. The service to him hasnt been great but thats no excuse for him running after balls half hearted. I'm not expecting him to run around like Paterson but a little more effort is needed without a doubt

Atmospehere was immense. I watch bits of it at work, I nearly cut of blood stream to my fingers I was gripping them so hard.

Time to pick ourselves, move on and wait till they come to Turf Moor. Then we will show them how to play football.
