Seems Bayern have decided to sell Kroos to Madrid rather than lose out on a fee in 12 months, Kroos told the media last night that he's leaving. That certainly means that Shaqiri will be staying.
Kraemer (Gladbach), Durm (Dortmund), Goretzka (Schalke), Meyer (Schalke), Hoejberg (Bayern), Green (Bayern)
It's just an absolute steal from Madrid's point of view. Shame to see a homegrown player leave for Spain though
That`s the thing that bothers me. If he was just some player that we signed and now sell, I wouldn`t be too arsed about him leaving. I think we can compensate him. But that he`s been coming out of our own youth, developed so well and is no going to play for a rival in the CL hurts indeed. But I wish him all the best.
Thanks for that.I've heard a lot about Durm and hopefully Hoejberg improves! Who do you think will struggle to stay up this season? Did Braunschweig survive?
Hard to know. I`d expect Paderborn to go down again. Otherwise, with the obvious exceptions of Bayern, Schalke, Dortmund and maybe Leverkusen, it could hit anyone. Don`t expect a run away title for Bayern either this season. After a WC it`s always been exceptionally hard for Bayern. I would also say to you that if you are interested in watching young upcoming talent, I would keep an eye on Schalke in general. They have a cracking young team. I am not convinced of their manager (Keller) and think they would do much better with someone like Tuchel. But still, if they can keep that team together, they could go places in the next couple of years.
Yes it's on Bayern's website, both teams have agreed to keep quiet about the fee but I very much doubt Bayern went under what they were wanting. Not too sad to see him go in all honesty, he was getting a bit big headed and greedy.
I have to do my personal little "walk to Canossa" here, as I was suggesting in the last couple of weeks that Schweini is in a bit of a decline and that I would rather like to see him leave, instead of Kroos Obviously, after this WC and his performance in the final, that couldn`t be further from the truth. What a legend he is, and at the same time humble and down to earth. If it was indeed a choice between him or Kroos to leave in our somewhat overcrowded midfield, I would say now that I`d rather keep Schweini any day. Thank God that`s the way it happened. I believe he is now on the same level as Beckenbauer in terms of importance to Bayern and German football in general. Shame on me that I ever doubted him. My favorite moment of this World Cup and the aftermath is what he did after touching down in Munich.
One of the best individual performances i've seen in that final from him. Blood, sweat, tears the lot.
