Latest gossip: Bild claims that De Bruyne agreed terms with BVB and that they are also close to signing Eriksen (Ajax). Apparently they are also after Benteke (Aston Villa) and Jackson Martinez (Porto) And some Brazilian politician called Vicente Cascione claims that Neymar has signed for Bayern I was told that this guy normally doesn't come out with nonsense, but nevertheless I am not so sure about that one.
De Bruyne & Eriksen will be very good signings. I'm not sure about Benteke. Is he good enough for BVB? It's one thing being good for a club fighting to stay in the PL, but it's another being good for one of the top sides in europe. I haven't seen much of Martinez but from what i've seen he seems like a decent player
Indeed. If it is all true and if they also sign a decent striker, BVB is certainly not going to be any worse than this season. None of it is confirmed yet though. I haven't seen any of Martinez or Benteke, but I do know that if Lewandowski leaves, they will need someone up there. Schieber doesn't really cut it for them. The Neymar rumour has been rubbished by Bayern officials today.
please can you Bayern fans let me know what you think of of this preview to next year? http://www.perfecthattrick.co.uk/?p=650
Close for 4th place with Schalke and Freiburg playing each other - the former need a draw I believe. Also a 3 way battle at the bottom - what do you think will happen?
Interesting article. Thanks for sharing. I would agree with a lot and disagree with some of your points. Some of my thoughts: a.) While Goetze is a great signing for us (a player that brings abilities to the club that were previously missing a bit), I don't think he is by any means a new Messi. As you rightly pointed out, he is not exactly a goal machine and therefore not really a good option as "false 9". Loew tried him in the national team in that position, which didn't really work out that well imo. It was against rather weak opposition too, if I remember rightly. If anyone could be suitable for that position, should Guardiola want to play like that, then I think it is Mueller. b.) Should Heynckes win the CL this year, or even the treble, I don't think it will put further pressure on Guardiola. It's the opposite if you ask me. If a CL success is out of the way, he is getting the time to make the transition from important players in the team, like Lahm, Schweinsteiger, Ribery and Robben, to other, younger players in peace. I know, Schweinsteiger and Lahm are not that old yet, but still it makes sense to think ahead. They are not going to get any better than they are now. If we don't win it this year, it will be expected in the next 2-3 years, which will make life that little bit harder for Pep. The pressure will be on. c.) I really don't know where all that talk about Suarez to Bayern is coming from. There is absolutely no mention of Suarez in the German media whatsoever. Even if the Lewandowski deal doesn't go ahead, Suarez is a very unlikely option. I doubt that they would sign anyone then, as Mandzukic, Gomez and Pizarro have been great and can easily give their service for another season or two. There is however some talk, that Gomez may have to leave this summer, as he allegedly fell out with Bayern officials in relation to advertising and merchandising. That is nothing more tahn a rumour though. d.) There won't be any attempt to turn Bayern into a second tiki taka Barcelona. If Pep tries that, he is going to fail miserably imo. But I am sure he knows that himself. There is absolutely no need for it either. e.) My biggest wish for Guardiola, when he takes over at Bayern is that he is going to further improve our youth academy. It is not bad as it is, as you rightly pointed out in your article, but I think that far more is possible. Sammer is already a man that puts a lot of emphasis into the youth, but I think with Guardiola at the club too our youth academy could become one, if not the best in the world. f.) Discipline is one of the strong points of our team these days. It wasn't always like that. I dont know how Heynckes did it but the likes of Ribery and Boateng, who is also a bit of a scallywag, are living the life of a monk at the moment. Thanks again for sharing your article, i liked it. Good luck with your site!
I like Freiburg, but I really hope that Schalke is going to take the CL spot. Freiburg has a great team (and manager) but they are being taken apart by "bigger" clubs as we speak. They are losing at least 3 -4 key players this summer and won't have a hope in hell to qualify for the CL imo. It would be an awful waste of our recently gained 4th spot in the CL. A draw should do for Schalke, but it is going to be tough. I think Hoffenheim is as good as gone. They would have to win in Dortmund on Saturday. Not going to happen. Duesseldorf away in Hannover and Augsburg at home vs Fuerth. Duesseldorf to lose or draw and Augsburg to win, which would mean that Duesseldorf go into the relegation play offs and Augsburg stays up. Thats the most likely outcome and it is also what I hope for.
Amazing last day of the season ! Gladbach 3-1 up after 10 minutes v Bayern after the Bayern defence decides to sleep for the first part of the match, then Bayern roar back to win 3-4. Hoffenheim win in Dortmund 1-2 and Dortmund have a last minute goal disallowed therefore sending Düsseldorf down, Hoffenheim amazingly make the relegation play offs !
I was at Bochum last Sunday and there were big cheers when the scoreboard showed that a late goal for Aue took them above Dynamo Dresden on goal difference, putting Dynamo in the relegation play-off zone. Is there are particular reason why fans in Bochum would want Aue to stay up or Dresden to go down?
