Congrats, Holstein. Awesome defending in the Volkspark. No wonder that they won now 6 in a row without conceding a goal.

With Fortuna getting a lucky 1-0 win against Fürth, also their 6th win in a row, it looks now pretty grim for HSV to even reach the 3rd place playoff place. 6 points gap now to Fortuna, St.Pauli and Holstein nearly through already.

:hmmm 6 wins for Holstein, 6 wins for Fortuna, 6 points gap to 3rd.

666 the number of the beast. Iron Maiden!

btw: That was already HSV's 200th match in the 2.Bundesliga:eeek
Of course we had to lose it because Holstein already won against us in our very first 2.Bundesliga match in 2018. In fact we yet have to win at home against Holstein in the 2.Bundesliga (we did win in Kiel, though).

Even more "dramatic": We haven't won against Holstein Kiel at home since 1962! ;) ( that was in the old Oberliga Nord, afterwards we haven't played a league match against them again until we were relegated in 2018)

97th minute equalizer away vs Dortmund. This is some scary voodoo stuff from Leverkusen now.

Happy that Cologne are going back to the Zwei. Who knows, I may be able to get a ticket for a game there someday!

So Dortmund in the CL then. Can't say I'm confident but can't say I'm not. Just noticed BvB's massive game at Leipzig next saturday while we'll be entertaining Le Havre most likely with a B team.

Looking forward to it (or not). Honestly don't know if I'd rather bow out now or in the final against corrupt Madrid (or worse: lose against Bayern in the final AGAIN!).

    Friday's results in 1./2. Bundesliga:

    #16 VfL Bochum vs #9 TSG Hoffenheim 1-0 3-2

Important win for Bochum to stay away from the relegation playoff spot (although Mainz, actually at #16, can overtake them with a win on GD). Bochum up to #14 (at least for a night)

    ------------------------------------------------

    #2 FC St.Pauli vs #16 Hansa Rostock 1-0

Now it's official, St.Pauli at least secured #3 spot and can't be reached by HSV anymore in the remaining 3 matches in the standings, therefore it will be the first time since 1954 that they finish a season above HSV (and if they get promotion it would even be the first time ever that they'll play in a higher league than HSV)

Grim times ( especially if they maybe can already celebrate promotion next Friday in the Hamburg Derby in the Volkspark)

Pauli up to #1 for the night

    #7 Hertha BSC Berlin vs #6 Hannover 96 1-1

    edit:
Of course Bochum won 3-2 not 1-0. It's late and maybe I mixed it up with the St.Pauli result ;)

And again, 13th time this season. Granted they are a good side and deserve the title, but everything is going for them in every competition, they'd better enjoy it because next season they'll get a reality check.

At some point it'll catch up with them. Fair play to them for continually coming back but it isn't sustainable to keep going in to injury time behind.

Definitely one of those seasons where fortune is on their side a little bit.

No sour grapes from me, good luck to them, I hope they win all three. But next season they will falter, it won't happen twice.

Have you any reports on Rene Maric, Zip? He’s Bayern’s U19 coach but been linked to our managers job in the summer. He’s only 31 ffs

Our recruitment team must’ve looked at how well Danny Röhl has done and thought they’d do the same.

Know how you feel after Luton got promoted last season!

Be even worse if you don't make it.

There's more, St Pauli can clinch promotion if they win next week at... HSV!

:finger (although I mentioned it myself in my last post but.... ;) )

HSV won 4-0 at Eintracht Braunschweig, too late imo although they could close the gap to Fortuna at #3 to 4 pts. Anyway, at least a good performance this time, although I feel a bit sorry for Eintracht.

I still hope that the Brownies won't already celebrate promotion in our Volkspark, that would be the ultimate kick in the ass for every HSV fan. Do it next match in your own one, please

I'm not so sure about it. They could be the next Heidenheim (kicked today Darmstadt back into 2.Bundesliga and are actually 10th and most likely secured their 2nd season in 1.Buli)

No need for a sorry ;)

btw: Did you see the actual standings of 3.Liga? (N means "Neuling" (Newbie), A means "Absteiger" (relegated team))

Actually 2 of the 4 new promoted teams (SSV Ulm, Preußen Münster, SpVgg Unterhaching, VfB Lübeck) are among the top3, Preußen only 1pt behind #2 spot and direct promotion. Unbelievable!

Last season we already had a back to back promotion team, Elversberg and now maybe even two.

And next season we have a "good old acquaintance" back in 3.Liga after 11 years in Regionalliga West. Alemannia Aachen is back in professional football. That's good news.

In 2006/7 Alemannia even played in the 1.Bundesliga until their downfall began (they are still in 4th place in the all time standings of the 2.Bundesliga with 1020 matches played)

My lower league week-end is approaching fast and if I secured tickets for Bielefeld & Braunschweig (weren't that many left btw), I'm still in the dark regarding Essen/1860. Essen sold out the home end and I'm waiting Wednesday to see if I can buy a ticket in the Sechzig away end. If I can't attend, it'll have to be massive Rot-Weiss Oberhausen in the Regionalliga West (which I'm absolutely fine with attending).

Great news for Aachen. Seems like a tremendously traditional club and it's good that this calibre verein are back in a countrywide league with fans in numbers following their side away.
