Our 5th summer signing is Steven Reid on a free transfer, 1 year deal.

Not a chance in hell will he take a slot in the first team, he will no doubt fill the Chris Baird role and be first cover for Kieran Trippier in case of injuries/suspensions.

Fair play to Dyche - he is building a squad with some depth and plenty of experience, but it's now time to see some big name, inspiring signings!

He might have 'experience' but he is not good enough to play in this division.

He won't be on much, and it's only a one year contract. Don't see the harm to be honest and would rather him come on at right back instead of anyone else in the squad if Trippier took a knock.

And hopefully if Kieran Tripper stays fit we won't see much of him, but we need a second right back just in case.

Yeh, when it's a case of supporters saying 'he won't play anyway', it's not a good signing.

You seemingly needed cover at right back, so you should have brought someone in that can: (a) play at this level (b) provide some form of competition to get the best out of Trippier

Cotterill is spot on. Reid isn't even a proper full back. U don't see the problem I do when it's a player not capable of playing at this level anymore

Injuries have ruined him he was a very talented player seems a strange signing but who am I to judge after the sh!t we bought last season.

didn't he play for Blackburn as well?

Matt Gilks apart i do worry for Burnley with their rag tag approach in the transfer market.
Just as i did last season,i want to see you progress with success for the likes of Steve/Gatti/Wilson etc and all the other Clarets lads on here.

Its a difficult situation when the promotion party has been cleaned up and the realisation what is required to compete in the top flight, but i have to say some of these signings are mediocre at best.

Pearson on our call in show last night expressed just how tough it is to be successful in enticing the targets he wants to a newly promoted club that isn't going to be paying over the odds in wages. He has seen a few fall through including by the looks of it Frazier Campbell who is holding out for better wages.Campbell appears to be Palace bound.
Not being able to compete with the likes of Palace in the wage department shows just how tough a job clubs like us and Burnley have in improving our quality and strength to hold our own next season.

I think we'll sign some for cash but its a little bit worrying the type of players who are first on the list . keeper aside the others for me offer zero to the side and i don't give a shit what people keep saying about Sordell , he looks shit to me

he might be but he loves to dish stuff out but not overly keen when boots on the other foot:laugh: wasn't me who forced him out although i had a run in or 100 with him. I know you'll be falling off your chair now at the very thought of ME falling out with anybody

Don't see the problem tbh, we signed Chris Baird for that exact reason last season and it worked a treat. Trippier got injured, he came and did the job.

At the end of the day if Dyche thinks he's good enough that's enough for me, everyone's entitled to their opinion.

The difference being that Chris Baird is good enough to play in the Championship and Steven Reid isn't good enough to play in the Premier League.

Well his opinion is correct, he was a liability for West Brom last season, how will this season be any different seeing as he is now a year older? I don't see how you can sugar coat that.
