Well, what a fixture this is. Our first ever EPL game at Turf Moor and what an occasion it should be. The current Champions of England visiting Turf Moor to be the opposition to Burnley FC, Champions of England 50 years ago to this season. Couldn't have asked for a more epic first home fixture and stage for an upset.

How tough it will be to gain anything points wise from this fixture though. Manchester United - No more needs to be said. But I have hope as ever. I'm thinking the lads will be so, so up for this as well as the fans, and on our own patch, I'm confident we will give them an awkward ride. Obviously dreaming for a win, but snatching a point would be as good as a victory IMO.

Would obviously be very happy with a point from this, who knows!? We showed what we can do last season so I remain hopeful we'll get something from the game. Possibly have Bikey at the back, and Edgar available again so should be stronger than Saturday. I'll be leaving at 11am Weds to have a few shandys before!

Well they are giving us a chance at least by having all their defenders knackered!!

Manchester United are facing an injury crisis in defence, with up to five defenders and a goalkeeper missing for the next two weeks of the season. In addition to injury absentees Edwin van der Sar, Gary Neville, Rafael da Silva and Nemanja Vidic, United lost Rio Ferdinand ahead of the weekend match against Birmingham City. Worse was to come though, with Johnny Evans limping out of the match in the second half. All six players are set to miss Wednesday’s Premier League at newly promoted Burnley - defensive troubles that could undermine the start of the campaign.

Trouble is we are also likely to have Caldwell and Duff out still but Edgar will be available after a one match suspenson. Bikey signing looking close though after he is rumoured to have passed a medical today at Turf Moor. He could play if we sign him in time, he will have completed the Reading five match ban by Wednesday

Bikey has passed his medical and hopefully he will be able to play, don't think i'll have any nails left if Jordan is playing again.\

    I would go with:

    -----------------Jensen----------------

    Mears-----Bikey-----Carlisle-----Kalvenes

    ---------------Alexander---------------

    Eagles-----McCann-----McDonald-----Guerrero

    -----------------
    Fletcher-----------------

    :gotcha

On a more serious note.. tidy up some of those defensive mistakes, and I can't believe im saying it, you could be capable of an excellent point. They were bludy rubbish against Birmingham at home. Give them a physical game and a good atmosphere and they won't like it.

I agree Pete, could be a much closer game than people might think with their injury concerns. I would also give Guerrero a starting place I think, has looked class everytime I have seen him now.

I think it will be close. The team will be up for it, so will us lot in the stands.

I think United will just skin it 2-1.

I think this will be a tight game, with our defensive problems it could go either way.

Best of luck to you. :thumb

Here's hoping mate. I reckon it will have the same kind of feel to it as one of the cup games from last season....will feel like the Arsenal or Spurs home games. Can't wait.
