I'm still amazed that a football club that can afford to spend £15m on a player then decides to use a private charter airline that has an aircraft with no de-icing capabilities flying through airspace where the freezing level at the time was at 1,500ft. That's exactly what a pilot would do if he wanted to commit suicide.
think it long since sailed past very bad taste, arguing over who is liable for the transfer fee value and now arguing whether they should have paid at all and he would have kept them up.... surely only on the argument they missed out on surviving by 2 points, 3 if you count their GD against them which would be right to do so. goes to confirm even safety takes a back seat to £££ would not be surprised if someone had or will take out a lawsuit against anyone they can including the pilot, and from what I just read on wiki the owners of the aircraft which was apparently 35 years old aircraft reportedly 35 years old and Ibbotson told friends the plan was "dodgy"
I've lost track of this whole sorry affair, but I think the reasoning behind all the legal arguments is that nobody seems to be responsible for putting this young footballer on a piece of shit aircraft piloted by a pilot who wasn't up to the task. Who made that decision, why not put him on a normal flight, who was paying for the flight etc. etc. etc.
Pretty much every authority who has judged on it so far has judged that he was a Cardiff player by that point and while it might not be their responsibility he was put on that plane, it wasn’t Nantes and they have no case to answer.
