Celtic getting a hosing now. Anderlecht/Bayern still 1-1, have to still favour Celtic for third.

Really poor defending at points but forget it, move on and concentrate on the Europa where we won't face teams at PSG's level.

Knew it could easily go the way it did tonight (they took 3 off Bayern and 4 off Barca there). . . . we can't compete with the best team in the world, we already knew that and it'll be funny to see our press take their opportunity.

We can and will get better defensively at this level, going forward we always look decent.

Roll on Hampden on Sunday then a huge game against Anderlecht in a fortnight for the Europa place.

Pretty much what everyone expected, but it’s horrific to watch it happen to us.

I thought we looked decent going forward, but we must invest as heavily as we can in defence (and a keeper) come January or the summer.

PSG would beat us regardless, but we don’t need to be giving them a helping hand.

As mentioned we need defensive improvements in January.

Ultimately Jozo needs moving on as we want a settled back line and can't cater for his injury rate. Reminds me of Thomas Rogne.

Lustig whilst not bad defensively he's getting slow and cumbersome against wingers. He can read the game but hasn't got the legs to do much about it. Needs more competition for his place as Gamboa clearly doesn't provide it.

Boyata has his Efe moments but has gradually phased them out of his game. Used to be a right bombscare. Usually does his job but we want better.

Gordon's an absolute mess and it's time De Vries was given some faith by Rodgers who signed him, he's long overdue a run of games to be honest. Just extended his contract as well. Cup final would be too soon but starting with Motherwell midweek. We should also be in the market for a keeper.

Tierney's cool he can stay :smokin:

PSG are the best team in the world right now so no shame in that defeat, they've been smashing everyone all season especially at home. Bayern Munich went there and got smashed.

All about the Anderlecht game now the 4 games against Bayern and PSG were free hits.

You do need to sort your central defence and GK out though . Your midfield and forwards are fine.

That was a tough watch as Caesar said but a lot of it is just stubbornness not to change a system against better teams. You could see from very early on that when we passed it back to Gordon their furthest forward player would sprint at Gordon to force him to play it quickly knowing that he'd probably make a mess of it. The number of times our defence played a sideways pass to a teammate in side our own box towards the corner flags was incredible, it was then punted to PSG who were still in our half. Lessons are not being learned, were not mentally strong enough as these hammerings are now taking their toll. Changes are needed but not just in the team, the system/tactics/naivety. Rodgers can't keep brushing it off as lesson from a better team. I accept we would need a lot to go for us to take something off PSG away but we should never lose by 7.

Oh definitely. I think Rodgers play a style that relies on having a strong back line, which we don't have. Gets found out against the top teams. He's imposed a passing game on Gordon because that's how he wants his keepers playing, but he's not good enough with the ball. I'd have scrapped that completely and played to the keeper's strengths, and if he still wants his ideal 'sweeper keeper' coming in then get them signed! If a new keeper isn't on the Christmas list I'll be baffled, as it's the one area Brendan hasn't nailed yet.

I won't bang the drum for changes though as it worked against Anderlecht and that's all we can compete with in this group. Still love what the manager is doing. Although he could be more pragmatic in these games.

The fact is that playing in Scotland we're never going to compete with PSG.

What we can (and will do) is improve defensively.

Shit happens. Don' think I have seen a more clinical side infromt of goal at this level than this PSG side.

Lustig going off never helped and they ran the defence ragid, our captain had probably his worst CL night since Rodgers came in and looked lost out there.

We actually attacked them well though and Dembele with a little bit more drive in the box could have done more on a couple occasions but I will put that down to his confidence along with the teams being completely shot after 30 minutes.

The EL has a lot of good teams in it and we could go on a run if we can get a couple of centre backs in.

7-1 is embaressing but PSG could take 4-5 goals off teams who spend £30 million on centre backs not £2-3 million.

This is the big one in the group for us tomorrow.

Dembele has been passed fit which is a huge boost, big noises coming out of Anderlecht and looking for us to ram it down their throats. Anything better than a 3-0 loss will be enough to see us through to the Europa after Christmas.

Once again Celtic Park will be rocking.

I know we can get through even with a defeat, but it would be hugely disappointing if we lost to them.

I wasn’t impressed with them at all in the game over there. We were absolutely honking for the majority of the first half yet still went in ahead.

I think we should be beating them again tomorrow.

We need to win this game, never mind avoid defeat. Our home record is poor and we need coefficient points as well. This term imo has not been as good as it should have been and we have not really shown signs of improvement. The games against Qatar were embarrassing and we must start showing that we can get better. A win at home to this lot, who are pish, is the least we should expect.

I think people are under estimating them, yes they looked poor over there but they very nearly won against Munich at home and are no mugs.

In the likes of Onyekuru they have a real threat.

If we turn up and play at the top of our game I have no fears, if we don't they have the quality to beat us.

They are terrible at the back. So are we though and we need to learn a bit more in the CL but Rodgers will not change his style. I can see a fairly high scoring game this week tbh.

We should beat them tonight, the midfield is key and they struggled once we got a hold of the game to keep up with our passing.

I expect them to sit back more than they did and try and nick a goal, keep it tight then they would have taken note from previous Celtic games in Europe we can get got at the longer a game goes on and a theme with our side atm is when we lose one we can quickly lose another.

They struggled with our left side last game and hopefully Sinclair can up his level tonight and give Tierney thee best chance to cause some damage.

So Anderlecht have to win 4-1 tonight to progress?

What would happen if it was 3-0 to Anderlecht?

No excuses for that tonight we were terrible, knew Anderlecht were better than some were giving them credit for but that takes nothing away from the fact of how disappointing we were.

To go from the last home performance against Bayern to that is unacceptable and the players really need to find consistency at this level, we know we're not at the races against the likes of PSG but should be (and did away from home) putting teams like Anderlecht under far more pressure than we did tonight.

We've achieved what we set out to do in this group which was the Europa after new year but there's a bitter taste with it tonight given that performance.

Must be disappointing that. Never mind still have the Europa league to look forward to.
