A few weeks back when we were 10 points clear of the drop zone nearly everyone at some point identified our home games against the likes of Wigan, Watford etc as the key games. It was expected that we would get very little from the away games, especially Anfield, Stamford Bridge & more than likely Old Trafford. To that end it's no surprise that the 10 point gap as been whittled down a little. It may even reduce further, we may even find ourselves back in the bottom three but the key games are a few weeks away yet so need to panic just because we lost at Chelsea.

game in hand ?????, so they play 39 , thats not fair

weve both played 30 as of now
our next game is what charlton had today , newcastle at home

we win next time out we can go up 4 places

charlton are 4 points behind us , we are 4 points behind 14th
theres not only us down there

im sure charlton wont be expecting too much on the last day at anfield
apart from man utd away the rest we can live with

Apologies, I meant to press 7.

Our next game is actually Bolton away, which I wouldn't class as an easy game. Charlton have Wigan at home. If the usual away negative approach happens and we lose, Charlton can then reduce the gap to a point, with a home game against us to play, and as a brilliant history man yourself, you will know we don't have the greatest record at Charlton. If this happens, they have the upper hand.

Granted, this may not happen. I'm just prepared for it if it does. I'm not saying we're staying up, because I don't know it for certain yet, I also don't know whether we're going down, but you have to realise it's a possibilty.

I pray that we don't go down, because no-one will be as gutted if we do. I'm just facing the facts that we do not have an easy run of games coming up, and we're only 4 points clear of our nearest challengers. So I'm not getting myself excited about staying up, and I'm also not gearing myself up for relegation. I am just stating that we are not out of the relegation race yet, you seem to think that we are immune to it for some apparrent reason.

why should charlton have the rights on looking up
as Ive already put , they are looking for 4 points to catch up our current total
we too can look for 4 points to get to 14th

    its all in the head

IT's good to hear that Hulse's operation has gone well and that he could be back in 6 months, although obviouslly still not good for your fight against relegation.

Having read the posts since the game on Saturday I am inclined to be of the same opinion of our away tactics which have been applied during our visits to Liverpool and Chelsea, and likely to be used at Bolton and Man Utd.

This mentality starts at the top NW!

This guy points to the important home games but seems not understand where the fans are coming from. Yes we expected to lose at these places but not in the manner we have been defeated, he has effectively had a psychological effect on the players and drained them of confidence which had grown through Jan/Feb with our style of play. In addition he has helped F**k up our Goal Difference which was by far a lot better than the bottom 4 at one point but not now, yet Mr Warnock's family will probably enjoyed their family break in London taking in the Lion King on Saturday night..........Do you see Messrs Boothroyd, Pardew, Curbishley, Pearce taking advantage of a Premier League fixture to enjoy a family break???? I think not.

The team this guy selected on Saturday baffled me too suddenly Alan Quinn was in the team have not been on the bench for last few games, where was Fathi who had played and was not even on the bench. Where was Squinny and when Hulse came off why did Nade come on and not Stead, because I would think that Stead will be the main striker in our next game so would you not given him some match time???

I think our recent dip in form points to one thing Jagielka being moved back into midfield enough said.

You are talking about Warnock's bizarre glue snifferesque attitude to team selection and tactics as if its some sort of new phenomenon?

    I agree

Hulse's injury will give some one else a chance. I cant wait to see Shelton in action, him and stead up front will be a similar style to last season with Shipps and Kabbs / Webber

You don't know that though, you might as well say Shelton and Stead up front will be like a thousand Zidanes on ice skates waltzing through the defence.

I know there no new phenomenon, I just cast my mind back a couple of seasons away at Stoke hands on hips lookin into space not knowing what to do. If I had been the board I would have sacked him there n then, and said good riddance but he's well connected.

I know he's got us to the premiership on a budget but those 2 seasons where we missed the play offs by a couple of places, after the play off final loss spoke for themselves n then the guy got lucky last season.

The Premiership on a budget thing is bollocks too, alright we don't have a sugar daddy and a big vat of spendable cash like Wigan or Reading, but we are quite well off as a club, and certainly the millions wasted on shite like Geoff Horsfield and Ade Akinbiyi are a good indicator as to how much money we have tucked away.

I menat from when he took over, I know in the past couple of seasons the club has prospered but prior to that we dint have too much cash. Obviously our property assets will have increased in value and therefore any secured lending against these is then well covered and borrowing against these is easier when you are more liquid.

I bow to Mr Massive's knowledge, it was only a few I had which seems to have struck a nerve with ya and I presume you anti NW.

I have heard he will be leaving at the end of the season from a work colleague who plays golf with his Financial Advisor, I took it with a pinch of salt but one can hope.

You should take the leaving rumour with more than a pinch of salt, rather you would need a rather large Yellow Grit Bins worth to swallow that sort of 5th hand rumour.

Yeah because someone who is a financial adviser to an extremely wealthy premiership manager is gonna jeopardise his quite hefty future commissions by blabbing to golfing buddies about his client's future plans. :rolleyes

Don't know yet, might not be able to play again, could be back in a few months.

I'm more bothered about Hulse being back than me though

Yeah, I was glad to hear his Op went okay, even though he's got that annoying habit of keep scoring against us :thumb
