Aside from the Apollo crew, every single human that's ever existed is in this photo.

That was true then of course, but the population of the earth has literally more than doubled since '68, from 3,546,810,808 to 8,045,311,447 in '23.

They are made from atoms that existed then. All the dead that have long gone have also gone back into the planet. Everyone is there that’s ever been. Including all the dinosaurs and all other extinct creatures. Mental thought.

NGC 2442 (The Meat Hook Galaxy)

Astrologers believe the odd shape of this Galaxy was created because of a collision with a smaller Galaxy billions of years ago.

A galactic year (the time it takes the sun to complete a full orbit of our Milky Way black hole) is 230 million years. This means our sun has only made that journey 20 times in its existence.

when you look at that and you think.

Well I visited Birr Castle to see the giant telescope that was once the world's largest and you could see the third Earl of ross's notebooks and see sketches of what he saw looking through lens he polished and m51 as a spiral

    upload_2024-1-5_20-11-46.png

1845 that thing was built. isn't it amazing to look at shots today and think how.they are still improving

M51 (The whirlpool galaxy) is great to image because of the relationship it has with the galaxy behind it.
