    YOu can't blame us.

He has transformed us and given us top flight football that no one else has been able to do for 26 years.

Then your backwards club come after hm, only after a few hours of us winning.

Surely he will want to stay to see through all his hard work? I don't think he will leave

He's not leaving, unlucky Celtic, he'll be your manager one day.

Don't worry, when Mark McGhee joins you that'll cheer you up.

ive seen the interview on sky sports this morning, he's off on holiday and whatnot and been in to speak with the board about money for the new season and all the rest of it. Like he said though Celtic haven't made contact yet but if they do whats to say he wont shoot off to Celtic. Like most Burnley fans i will be proper gutted if he leaves but we'll have to crack on with it.

Irvine from PNE would do me fine in his place.:party

I wasn't worrying, he really wasn't my first choice. I don't exactly no Celtic's financial restraints, but if Coyle is the best we are aiming for then we may well be in trouble. :thumb

If Celtic are such a great club, surely you don't need a manager as good as Coyle to win a two horse race? :)

You make it sound so simple. I would bet a lot of money that Burnley would not win the SPL.

We also have the Champion's League/Europa League to worry about.

    Something that Burnley never do.

We probably wouldn't win the SPL but you didn't either! To be fair, qualifying for the Champions League in the SPL is hardly a tough task is it?

Burnley could sustain themselves in the EPL, but asking them to reach the Champions League (or nearly any other club outside the big 4) is not going to happen. I would hazard a guess a club like Fulham would give the old Firm something to think about over the course of a season..

One thing I wanted to say, but I couldnt be bothered to post it yesterday...

The article I posted was slightly misleading. all it said was he was 'poised' the rest of the article was a pile of crap, just talking about how much the clubs players want to keep him etc.

I suspect he will stay, there are other managers they could go for to be honest

I think yesterday it looked very dodgy, not sure why it took until 5.30pm for Coyle and the club to release a statement but it does look as though he will be staying now thank god.

Correct, we didn't win it this year, but we have won it 7 times this decade alone. I think that is an acheivement.

I also think the Champion's League feat is an acheivement for the Old Firm. We have to consistently punch above our weight in Europe or risk losing European places altogether. Team's like Tottenham, Everton have it easy in qualifying for Europe as they will always have the big 4 guaranteeing European places for English clubs, no matter how badly they perform in Europe. Burnley have just made about £50m from winning the playoff final last week. It would take Celtic about 10 seasons to make that maybe more from the SPL, yet we consistently play and perform well in the Champion's league.

Glad he's stayed it would have completely ripped the heart out of you if he left and would have left you huge favourites to go straight back down in my opinion. The whole squad is moulded around Coyle's style and it would be difficult for someone else to slot in and carry on the good work. It would be the same at Stoke if Pulis left.

I know how you feel mate, I know Coyle said before he went on holiday and I quote "I assure everyone I'll be Burnley manager when I'm back" but still just the silence is really nail biting, I just wanna see the lads and Coyle back in pre season training - it's gonna be a nervous few weeks!

I think this should reassure everybody, I have Coyle down as a guy with high morals and honesty so believe him when he says:

"All I would say is the same I have said from day one; I am fully committed to the job in hand at Burnley Football Club.We have an unbelievable adventure ahead of us and we want to make sure that when the season kicks off we do our ultimate to stay in the best division in the world.I am so excited at the challenge and prospect of pitting our Burnley side against the best."

I've already heard all that but that is before Celtic have come knocking on his door. We'll see how cool he is about it if and when it happens.:(
