Heard that before. We lost 3-0 to Sweden in a friendly before the last tournament, it really isn't about the result today, it's about preparing for next week.
Not the best. But perhaps not too surprising given changes and match fitness of some players coming back. That’s the 6th consecutive clean sheet away from home for Albania!
I think it'll be Ward. Ward got the nod in the two competitive games in March, with Hennessey getting the friendly. I don't know if anything will have changed selection thoughts in that time with neither playing for their clubs and I think similar has happened here with Ward being selected for the harder game. I don't think there's much between them and to be honest would be fine with either, but Ward's performance against France will have won him round to some more of our support.
Always look out for Wales. Had the pleasure of going to the semi in 2016 on a complete whim and was a great experience. It’s a doable group.
If we finish first or second, then we're looking at second place in Group B or C - Finland, Denmark, Russia, Austria, Ukraine? I believe all would be at neutral venues - all really decent chances for us. Third place and we're looking at a last 16 tie against Spain (perhaps Sweden/Slovakia), France or Belgium. It'd be no shame for us to get to the knockouts and go out to those sides, but there's lots for us to play for in this final game. We definitely want an Italy win here tonight, hopefully by a decent score. It'd benefit us both by reducing the threat of Switzerland, but also by reducing Italy's need to field a strong side. Turkey could do us a favour in the final game regardless, who knows they could come good after all? Anything can happen on the final day.
There's actually an okay chance of this happening, if you win your group and the rest of the results in our group go for us We're just happy to be here though. If we get out of the groups, which looks certain now, we'll have got out of the group stage in every single tournament we've ever qualified for. The opposite of Scotland, who've yet to ever get out of a group stage (so far).
