It’s a pity that bookies don’t have to accept any and every bet request as i’d love a price on Jonathan Woodgate to be managing us next season.
We’d probably blow it with the processes above him but I’d be happy with him having a go yeah, if judging from purely a coaching perspective. Think his issue at M’Boro was it came too soon and he didn’t hire the right people to assist him. He wouldn’t be who I would instantly want if we’re doing requests. Just think it’s what might happen.
We are laughable lads Notice no comment in the statement from Gavin Baldwin. He’s livid and for good reason. Totally wrong appointment and David Blunt is ruining us with this. Gavin Baldwin wanted us to be a MK Dons with philosophy, strategy and recruitment. James Coppinger just is not qualified for this role.
Best story I have seen is our supporters coach played pass the parcel on way to a game confirming our relegation down to basement division. F*cking amazing what a day!
I think it’s time we get this thread shifted to league two, or just jump the gun and pop us in the non league section to save the mods moving it again next year
Was chatting in a group chat about where we’re at currently, squad wise and a few of my thoughts… Goalkeepers: Jonathan Mitchell Louis Jones Ben Bottomley Right Back: Kyle Knoyle Charlie Seaman Centre Back: Joe Owolu Ro-Shaun Williams Ollie Younger Bobby Faulkner Tom Anderson Left Back: Centre Midfield: Adam Clayton Ben Close Liam Ravenhill John Bostock Attacking Midfield: Jon Taylor Jordy Hiwula Tommy Rowe Aidan Barlow Striker: Reo Griffiths Joe Dodoo Kieran Agard Underlined - Still to accept contract renewals. Personally i’d prefer Aidan Barlow and Louis Jones both turn down the offers and try find regular football elsewhere. Blue - Most likely loaned out. Hopefully we can get a decent level into them for a change as we need to do something different. We’re developing nobody. Excited to see how Faulkner progresses. Red - We desperately need to try shift these on. Absolute shite. Will be a struggle to find any gullible idiot willing to take him on. Pathetic decision from the club to ok this deal. Take the hit. Their fault. A couple of opinions on some others… Charlie Seaman - Not sure he’ll end up the player we hoped but with us and elsewhere he’s played a few positions now so I can see him becoming a bit of a utility player here. A squad needs a player like that. Ben Close - I’ve been convinced for a while that he’s just not settled here and would be a surprise departure. Nothings changed my mind on that yet. He’s spent his whole life in and around the south coast, his injury situation isn’t all what it seems imo and he’ll be one of our biggest earners. I see him moving on but time will tell. Jon Taylor - His game is all about pace. How much of that has he lost? It’s a nasty injury he’s had and had 3 lots of surgery all on the same toe. I’m concerned at what player we’re going to be getting back. If all offered deals, sign; Permanent Signings wish list: - Attacking left back - Box to box midfielder - Joe Sbarra (Solihull Moors) - Josh Kelly (Maidenhead United) - Centre Forward We really do need to start being serious with recruitment. This b*llocks of just accepting whatever is out there isn’t working. Our lack of speculating to accumulate is killing us. Nobody is wanting us to break the bank, just to put some money into progressive, exciting young footballers for us to develop, succeed and profit from for a brighter future. They’ve talked the talk now they need to walk the walk. Next season is not going to be a pretty site, on or off the pitch if we carry on doing the same as usual. It doesn’t work. Then i’d like to see 3/4 loans added to the additions at centre and attacking midfield taking us to around 7/8 incomings total. What’s your lads thoughts going into the summer and next season DonnyO & DonnyR?
Pretty much agree with most of that. I’ve not seen enough of Mitchell as I refused to pay to go and funnel money into the clubs pockets after January but I think we could do with a better Keeper. Bottomley and Faulkner - As you say, a decent loan is required not our usual ship them out to frickley or some other shite team Id like to see Seaman stick around. I think as you say a bit of a utility player and with us dropping down a level he’ll hopefully be able to show a bit more consistency I highly doubt it would happen but I’d like to see us only bring in 2 or 3 loanees. I’d accept 4 as long as the players we bring in permanently are truly going to form the core of the team for the next few years. There’s a solid base of players there with Younger, Olowu, Knoyle, Rowe and Griffiths and we need to build the team around them imo
I find it incredibly sad that our beloved club has gone so wrong. We had a good club 2 or 3 years ago and no way did I see us as league two potential. The apathy in the club is rampant from the top to the bottom. Losing games is a way of life that no-one seems to care about and just accept. I see no way out of it right now as the club is continuing on its current path. I m not convinced we will come straight back up as there are no signs of a change in culture.
I'll kind of miss them not being in League 1 , much rather Fleetwood or Morecambe been relegated , but hey ho , no trip to the Eco Power Stadium ( I think it's called nowadays ). Good luck for a quick return , you know Fergie's still free
