Excellent, one of my best friends lives in Utrecht too, he goes to all sorts of places to watch football right down to the 7th tier haha, he's a Sparta fan and regularly gets the train down to Rotterdam

Christ was that really over 11 years ago!
I still remember that feyenoord hooligan being really confused I wasn't in a gang after he found out I was English, cos you know all we do is fight! He even knew Southends hooligan crew which I found mental.

Sunday, it's the Rotterdam Derby: Feyenoord (#1) vs Sparta (#19). Very early kickoff 12:15 CET.

PSV (#2) away at PEC Zwolle (#9). I'll try to watch that (16:45 CET Kickoff) to see how Mario Götze adapts to Dutch League football.

PSV should come out on top, certainly a game I will try to watch!

I would also suspect Feyenoord will beat Sparta ... although it is a Derby and form goes out of the window, but Sparta have been awful so far.

HUGE result for Sparta to get a point from Feyenoord. I see Steven Berghuis got another assist today, the guy is having an insanely good season.

Great debut for Mario in the PSV dress. First goal after only 9 minutes! In German TV show "Sportschau" they had also a little report about him. Seems that the PSV shirt with his name on it is already a big success. A PSV shop staff member said that they've never before selling so many shirts of a single player.

I'm not surprised he's a huge player still, he got a man of the match award for his performance today also.

Jesus Christ, 0-13 :eeek VVV Venlo; One thing's for sure, the V doesn't stand for Victory .

8 Scorerpoints for the young Traoré (5 Goals, 3 Assists)

13 Goals, never happened in the Bundesliga.
The highest loss here was the legendary Borussia Mönchengladbach vs Borussia Dortmund 12-0 in 1978 that brought Gladbach the Championship (because Köln only won 5-0 against St.Pauli ;) )

The 13-0 is also the highest win in the Eredivisie. Previous Record was also from Ajax, a 12-1 against Vitesse Arnhem in 1972.

Venlo should have reacted after the third goal, but conceded... ten more. Disappointing.

    I’ll say…

…but FC Twente are making noise, and could cause heads to asplode this weekend.

After defeating minnows Emmen last Friday night, who’d have predicted that ALL the Big Dogs (Feyenoord, Ajax, PSV, and AZ Alkmaar) would draw against weaker opponents? Two-point gain on all four! (I dare say they were touring car horns in Enschede last Sunday with not a few complaints from their German neighbors.)

So now Twente have a chance this weekend to leapfrog Ajax with a victory in Amsterdam, and possibly be only 1 point back of leaders Feyenoord.

I wouldn’t wager Twente Dollars on it but I will root for it.

Wouldn't put Alkmaar up there with the 3 big clubs in the land even though they have been accustomed to top 5 finishes. Twente deserve respect for what they're doing but they seem to have gone from strength to strength since going down (sometimes, it does the club a lot of good, getting rid of the deadwood and all that).
What is more surprising is that Feyenoord are actually leading the way as we near the halfway point of the season. Will it last? I personally hope so.

Bad omen for Twente. Inside of the right post in minute 5; inside of the left post in minute 6; failure to score on a horrid Ajax giveaway in minute 7.

They will likely rue these three glorious chances by the end of the contest. It’s always the case.

P.S. Or not. Last-Man-Challenge Red Card against Ajax in minute 32.

FINALE: With a few home team forays, the visitors largely control the game but cannot create outstanding chances, even being a man up. This 0-0 will feel like a lost opportunity for FC Twente Enschede.
