Glazers exposed for 'unclean and smelly' Tampa Bay Buccaneers facilities An extraordinary report from the NFL Players Association has revealed the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have 'smelly' facilities and the Glazers charge players' families to use a daycare room on gamedays. Manchester United fans have regularly protested against the Glazer family since they became majority shareholders in 2005 and many hope that Sir Jim Ratcliffe's acquisition of a minority stake marks the beginning of the end of the American's involvement with the club. The Glazers have been criticised for their lack of investment in United and Old Trafford, along with Carrington, has fallen behind the infrastructure that rival clubs have. The American family have owned the Tampa Bay Buccaneers since 1995 and their franchise won the Super Bowl in 2021 after persuading legendary player Tom Brady to sign, but life under their ownership has been laid bare in a report published by the NFPLA this week. The NFPLA is the labour union representing NFL players and they produce a detailed survey each year to gauge their member's thoughts on how their respective teams operate. The results are published as a scorecard for each franchise and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' report has revealed they have 'unclean' and 'smelly' facilities, while the Glazers also charge players' families for using a daycare room for their children on gameday. Some of the key takeaways from the survey, published by the NFPLA, were the following: Club owner Joel Glazer receives a rating of 6.1/10 from Buccaneer players when considering his willingness to invest in the facilities (29th overall) Younger players have roommates, unless they pay the team approximately $1,750 for their own room each season The players must sit in the smaller seats in the back of the plane while the staff sit in the larger first-class seats The major issue brought up by players is a lack of cleanliness. The players say the locker room is not clean, constantly smelly and has a persistent bug issue in the showers. They also mention that the sauna is dirty and/or mouldy, small and constantly breaking down. The players feel the locker room is old, outdated and needs to be renovated They are one of 12 teams that do not provide a family room during games They provide daycare but charge $90 per child An overview of the survey read: "The Tampa Bay Buccaneers finish the year ranked 24th overall [from 32 teams]; the ranking could have been lower if the staff had not earned high marks among respondents. The dietician, training staff and strength coaches all received solid grades from the players. "Club owner Joel Glazer ranks 29th across the league when it comes to the question about a perceived willingness to invest in the facilities, and the reason for assessment is reflected in the data collected across categories. "The players described the locker room as “unclean” and “smelly,” and they even cited seeing bugs consistently in the showers. Respondents also described the team sauna as “dirty,” “small” and “broken down.” "Younger players must have roommates on work travel, unless they pay the team more than $1,750 for their own room each season. They do have a daycare room on gamedays, but charge players’ families $90 per child, which most other teams offer for free. "Outdated facilities are one thing, but providing clean showers and workspaces, and not charging players to have their own hotel room on work trips should be basic standards for a multi-billion-dollar professional sports enterprise."
Seems like all the hillbilly scum do is take, take, take. The players sitting at the back of a plane whilst staff sit in first class is an incredible way to treat the most important assets of the club, clueless.
Why did we spend so much money on yet another crock? Our only decent signing this year has been the guy the club forced on the manager (Hojlund)
I think he could work as a head coach if the right structure was in place. But in our current state, he would be a disaster.
After all this talk about revamping the football operations and then they go and appoint Southgate. That would be fooking hilarious I think Big Sam has more chance than that PE teacher.
Southgate has won nothing with arguably the best international team in Europe possibly the world but maybe the club are looking at how he has worked with the media and developed the players he has and turned us round from defeat to Iceland to competition favourites. You can see the reasoning if true but still not for me.
New 90k Stadium going to happen at the existing NB site. Task force chaired by Seb Coe, including Gary Neville and Andy Burnham. Not sure how I feel about it yet, but certainly ambitious and decisive start for SKR off the field. I’ll be happy if this is replicated with the team… knock it down and start again!
Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo has received his first call-up to the England squad for the upcoming friendlies against Brazil and Belgium. Mainoo, 18, was originally named in the under-21s squad but has been promoted to Gareth Southgate's senior side. England play Brazil on Saturday and Belgium on 26 March - both at Wembley - their final games before Southgate names his squad for Euro 2024. The rest of the 26-man squad reported to St George's Park on Tuesday. United academy graduate Mainoo has been capped by England at under-17s, under-18s and under-19s level. The Stockport-born teenager made his first Manchester United start against Everton in November and has gone on to make a further 19 appearances. He scored his first goal for the club in a FA Cup fourth-round win at Newport at the end of January, before netting a late winner against Wolves in the Premier League four days later.
