Having received the man of the match award (deservedly) after the England v Belgium game I hope Mainoo's feet are firmly on the ground. He's looking better every game, but I've read that the club see no need to improve his contract at the moment. That's laudible in a way, but if Real Madrid start sniffing around for him to play with Bellingham it won't look great if he's still on £20k/week.

I'd say if he continues his form next season, they will start to look at it before the January window. In the meantime, they will see how the books look post transfer window. We have a lot of overpaid crap on the books, that we will struggle to get rid of.

Hope our future players like Garnacho & Mainoo can also do us proud
These were the players I saw in my lifetime. I do have huge respect for what players like Bobby Charlton & George Best did for our club but well before my time

Hope Rashford isn't here next season. Sick of him jogging about the pitch without a care in world.

    Rashford
    Casemiro
    AWB
    Varane (good player but sicknote)
    Bruno

Get rid of those 5, and get in a CB, a DM and a backup striker, would be a decent window.

Think we need a LB too.
Crazy money spent on this squad and here we are talking about needing to spend more.

We do, but can't fix all the holes in our team and squad without some FFP balancing. Getting 5 big earners, who offer next to nothing, off the books should give us money and wage room to sign 3 new guys, and still have a big reduction in wages (bearing in mind Martial and Amrabat are also going).

Sell Eriksen, Shaw, Antony and Linelof the next summer, and get in a new LB, and another CB, plus a winger, and assuming our signings are decent, we should be in a good position starting XI wise and FFP wise.

Great in theory, but that's assuming anyone wants to buy any of our crap.

I'll happily let anyone go cheap or free if we get their full wages off the books.

The old adages, "I'll pay for his bus fare" or "I'll drive him myself" come to mind

Wan Bissaka was your best player today and is every time I see you play

Goals apart (and they were both excellent goals) I dont think Mainoo or Fernandes impressed at all, think our midfield absolutely schooled them.
Goalie yeah made a few good saves and that young CB looks to have a bit of potential. Garnacho? Didnt seem to get into the game much. Maguire, hmmm dunno, put himself about a bit I guess.

Thought Wan Bissaka did ok, he's sort of impressed me a few times watching you this season.

I would be more enthused if 6th actually looked nailed on for us. Even if we did qualify, group stage could be embarrassing for us again

So it is plausible there could be 7 (seven?!) teams from the same league in the Champions League in a season?

    So stupid.

Cannot happen this season as neither City or Arsenal will finish 5th.

Agreed. It should be 2 max for the best leagues, with 2 extra slots available for defending Champs and EL holders (so each year maybe 2 leagues with 3, or the odd year where one league has 4).
