Loreen is an icon, she deserves her win and she has joined Johnny Logan as a two time winner. Tattoo is not as good as Euphoria but its still a banger. Anyway Sweden will host on the 50th anniversary of ABBA winning, should be great.
Well I had good fun last night. Love Eurovision and this is the first time in a few years I’ve actually been able to sit and watch it all. The votes were really weird last night. Lots of people had Spain down as top 5, but they absolutely tanked in the public vote. Same with France. Norway which was my favourite, was 17th in the jury vote!! But 3rd in the tele vote and that difference was absolutely mental. The UK song was unfortunately never one that was going to transfer well to a live performance imo. It’s a really fun catchy song but it’s one for the radio Love Loreen, she’s amazing and Euphoria is my favourite ever eurovision song but Finland were robbed by the jury votes.
If I told you one of the acts wore some mighty fine Nazi memorabilia on stage would you watch it @zippy?
Nope, despite the BBC's shameful flogging of it for at least two weeks, I managed to avoid it mainly. Rubberneckers? Well. I've seen the "song" that won it, god knows what the rest were like if that was the best? For an event that professes to be "non political" It's one of the most overtly political pantomimes on the planet. Ban Russia (rightly) for waging war on people in Ukraine, but let's include Israel who have been doing that for years in Palestine! The voting is purely political for a start. Well, after doing the coronation to death, then this, I guess it will be back to the strictly come dancing shite?
Some of you just hate fun! Watched the show as always. It's always a blast even if the winner was virtually a forgone conclusion this year. Cha Cha Cha the peoples champ though. Slovenia's song was under appreciated for me!
I too enjoyed Slovenia, it reminded me of the kind of song you’d find on fifa a decade ago. Along with Moldova who are always good for a fun entry!
Apparently the reason Mae Scissorhands didn't do very well was because the music drowned out her vocals. Strange because i could hear her singing out of tune perfectly fine.
Hours and hours of awful formulaic music, fawned over by a platoon of Z-list 'celebrities', suddenly extended to several nights rather than the traditional one, and a ludicrously convoluted voting system that apparently takes as long as the actual 'music' bit and is totally politically orientated.
