Vale have only got 16 players signed up for the season so everybody should be predicting them to get relegated with the lowest points total in league one history
James Collins top 4 goalscorers 16/1 bet365 . Think he'll get far more game time than McGoldrick who also does a lot of his better work outside of the penalty box . Lee Gregory should have a good season & Marquis could be a dark horse if he can recapture his Donny form as could Will Grigg back home at Fake Dons . I would have been biased & backed market favourite Jonson Clarke-Harris but 7-1 is too short & I still think there's a chance he'll be sold before start of the season along with Ronnie Edwards to help balance the books £16 million debts & the loss of around £10 million TV rights & extra Championship fan revenue monies .
1. Barnsley 2. Sheffield Wednesday 3. Milton Keynes 4. Bolton Wanderers 5. Shrewsbury Town 6. Oxford United ... 21. Portmouth 22. Burton Albion 23. Charlton Athletic 24. Fleetwood Town
Lol, those predictions are the worse i have ever seen, are u on crack or something, no way will Charlton or Pompey go down, and Strewsbury will not be top 6, and Barnsley will not be champions of Division one.
The supercomputer does have them at 17th but I've no idea why? Ipswich at 15th too? No idea how it's even calculated or if it's ever even close to being right, I doubt it looking at that. https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/league-one-supercomputer-final-table-27531289 Obviously it has 10th and 11th the wrong way around.
Probably be the only thing outside of Cheltenham predicting us to stay up. FWIW, I think we'll be fine, but I understand why people are naive enough to have us in the drop zone.
I’m not entirely optimistic about our chances this year, but if we finish 15th then something will have gone spectacularly wrong.
Bit annoying they don’t even devote a couple sentences of that article to explain the data they’ve put into the ‘supercomputer’ to work that out FWIW the FiveThirtyEight projection @Garrincha posted is a fairly useful guiding point to use in terms of a teams promotion/playoff/survival chances as the season progresses into the latter stages (I think it’s based upon calculating each teams attacking/defensive strength based on previous results, 538 does explain its algorithm somewhere unlike the Mirror ‘supercomputer’) but probably won’t produce anything incredibly worthwhile until we’re 15-20 games into the season.
I love it when fans of other teams write us off and we punch above our weight, we ended up in The Championship which i never thought i'd see in my 48 years of supporting my local team through years of non league and last season we reached the play off final where we let ourselves down with a shit performance.
There's a person who posts under @ITFCreactions has came up with this as an upcoming league table , the best ones below . 1) Ipswich 2) Sheff Utd 4) Plymouth ( play off winners) 5) Wycombe Utd 7) Chorlton ( no wheelies ) 8) Derby City 12) Rotherham 13) Plymouth ( again ) 18) Burton Argyle Relegation places 20) Lincoln 21) Cambridge 22) Peterborough 23) Acrinton 24) Cheltenham . Cracking stuff , surely just a humorous post yet some have taken it seriously .
But i do think you have a chance of the play offs, also will be making a trip to south Yorkshire when we play you, always enjoy a away day at yours.
