Delicate lot. Truro are also travelling 200 miles to play their home games at Gloucester City. 13 games in 28 days traversing multiple counties for home games and they just crack on with it.
Barnet chairman bucks the trend CHAIRMAN’S STATEMENT FOLLOWING CHANGES TO FA CUP REPLAYS – Barnet Football Club
He has a point to be fair. The vast, vast majority of replays are completely unmemorable and played in mostly empty grounds. Minnows are far more likely to win in extra time in the first game than in a replay.
Thats awful thinking. Our greatest cup nights were replays We have fixture congestion because these spastics dont put in enough midweek games in early season
Likewise - in recent years Portsmouth and Stockport both spring to mind, and also Shortwood even though we were on the wrong end of it (the less said the better) that was probably the greatest night in that clubs history. What a shambolic few days from the National League, they really don’t help themselves
Every club outside of the premier league should refuse to play in it next season. Lets see how good your TV ratings are then
NL keeping the money men of the prem happy on this, no doubt some promises of funding coming their way as they’re backing the PL with their stance of an independent regulator. No surprise our useless MD is involved. Dagenham chief fears Football Governance Bill might be bad for 'small clubs'
And Aldershots, another club who had a bigger covid payout than most clubs The whole NL board isnt fit for purpose
Given the Sheriff is on that Board, would explain why we didn't put out a statement condemning the decision.
National league and PL thinking of creating a new competition with the Premier league Under 21 teams involved. So are the Under 21s going to pull out of the EFL trophy and play in this instead?
PL buy NL over cup replays with this bollocks should be the headline. Now it makes sense with our MD spouting before last weeks game that we must finish 16th. He would sell his mum to the devil for a bit of cash.
The NL clubs who haven't been in the EFL recently only need to look at the EFL Trophy to see this is a shit idea. That competition was already fairly poorly supported but the inclusion of PL academy teams ruined it IMO. I didn't go to a single Trophy game after they changed it and I'm not alone. Plenty of fairly well supported clubs will post 3 figure attendances. I'd imagine every game bar the final is run at a loss. Mirror that down here, with worse attendances I'd expect. I'm sick and tired of every facet of our game being run for the benefit of the PL. If you've got 100s of players on your books and they need game time, loan them out. Better yet, just let these players have a natural career anyway. Hoovering up lads at ages 15-18 then letting them fester in a youth set up until they're released and they end up playing in leagues 1/2/NL just seems a pointless exercise.
