simple , what has been your favourite away day(can include games at Wembley) and why? i havent been to many but my first away game at Blackburn stands out as one of my favourites 1-0 with Campo header and 2 penalty saves late on from Jussi , cant get much better.
Wrexham away to Manchester United in the FA Cup. Was the year that Cantona had that 9 month ban ( 1995 ) so was very disappointed that we would not get to see him play. It was the season when the only teams to score more than 1 goal at O/T were Barcelona, IFK Gothenburg, Nottingham Forest and us. We lost 5-2 but we had the audacity to score the first goal and for a few minutes we were going nuts. I recall being right infront of the executive boxes and a lad i was with was hammering the windows and flashing the v's at the posh lot inside. The team line up for ManU included Schmeichel, Irwin, Bruce, Keane, Ince, Giggs and someone called Beckham. When the final whistle went the O/T fans stayed behind to clap the Wrexham players off the pitch. A day i will never ever forget.
I like Forest away. Usually quite a tasty atmosphere home or away, but it's not the same as Albion or Blues so we can still go and have a drink in Nottm it not turn into a bubble trip. Good choice of bars around the town. Love the City Ground as well, great setting and its seen some cracking games over the years between us. Used to get major goosebumps before kick off, they'd play Born Slippy a couple minutes before kick off, if any song every encapsulated a Saturday afternoon at the football that was it. Others include, PNE, Liverpool, and the obvious derby games.
Aldershot last February. Not only because we got a vital 3 points, there was something I really liked about that away terrace, and the lane that takes you there. Something unique. Both sets of supporters made a cracking atmosphere too.
Blackpool at Wembley a day i will never forget, we hadnt scored any late goals all season until at Wembley Vaz Te comes and smmacks home the winner in the 87th minute. Amazing day.
Brentford, Forest, WBA, Wolves, Plymouth, Bournemouth.. All quality away days off the top of my head. Our very own Ashton Gate must be a quality away day if i may say so myself. An awesome city, lots of places to drink, an away end where you can get away with standing and generate a good atmosphere.. And its an easy place to get 3 points. What more could you want?
One of my favourite stadiums. Much more character than one of these bowls with no soul. Last time I went only had three sides so it'll be nice seeing it completed. Also got the museum so something to do when you get up there. Not to mention we usually win up there
Tis a nice ground isn't it. Shame the museum has gone, they took it off us and sent it too that shit box called Manchester.
Years ago me and my friend decided on a Friday that we would go to Highbury the next day. Had a brilliant time.
Fulham. Very good away pub, superb away section, lovely ground right on the Thames, decent (by PL standard) ticket prices, and we often win!
I love the look of Dortmund. I'm doing my Erasmus year in Germany and desperate to do Dortmund, Munich and Schalke whilst there
I remember the old battles we had over the last few yrs, one that sticks in my my head is the match we got beat 2-0 at Home Park i think Fontaine scored in front of your fans at the barn park end and it went mental
