A wretched, bloated competition these days.

0-0 away from home is okay, but frustrating not to go back with an away goal. We'll have to go all out now next week, though given the Stoke performance in the second leg after a great first leg it's probably best to keep motivation high. A full Anfield and an early goal and we should be set. We're always liable to concede at any time though with that bomb scare in goal.

Yeah I'd be more concerned playing Everton with no midweek game.

Just hope it's not the obligatory extra time and pens on Thursday. Get it done in 90.

Big game tomorrow night - really need a comfortable win (within 90 minutes!) going into the final on Sunday.

Would love for us to be 3-0 up at half time so we can drag Sturridge/Coutinho off but in reality we'll probably make hard work of it before winning with a late goal or a penalty.

Yeah could you imagine if we had ET and pens again tonight? That'd make it curtains for us on Sunday. Doubt it'll happen though.

Happy with the team line up other than Lucas playing at center back. He's always likely to give a penalty or costly free kick away.

    Looked an extremely soft penalty.

Another 2 goals needed. Mignolet looks so uncomfortable everytime he touches the ball its hearts in mouth. Thats just us fans imagine how the team feels. Definitely needs to be addressed in the summer.

We've played really well on the ball, some good football, but look wide open & but for a daft penalty it'd be 0-0. Lucky to have got off with that Lucas clownery as well. Moreno & Sturridge have looked good.

Like Ollie said Lucas nearly cost us the whole world with that blind back pass. I'll never fully trust him as a center back.

Milner gets on my tits with his corners and crosses all being played into the keeper's hands. Well taken pen though i guess.

Job done. More hairy than it should have been, but hopefully shooting boots saved for Sunday. I didn't even want us to win by too many because we never follow it up with a win (or goals) in the next game when we do and Sunday is a big final for us. Even Mignolet made a couple of saves!

We've got to start managing the games better in Europe.

That was extremely hard work that. Feared the worst when Lucas conceded that free kick just outside the box in the eighty eighth minute. Thought that was gonna be curtains for us. Like Ritchie said though job done and we're through which is all that matters.

Coutinho took a lot of kicks and knocks tonight. Henderson took a blow as well. Just hope they'll be alright for Sunday.

Felt sorry for FCA. If only the guy in the box near the end had let the ball through he had a team mate behind ready to stick it in the empty net.

Watched this as a neutral but wasn't impressed by Liverpool tbh, mind you going through is the main thing.

We were ok going forward, if a bit wasteful, but once again we looked very vunerable at the back.

Ausberg have a few half decent players there. Was impressed with their goalie, right back and one of the centre backs, Klavan is it?

Midfield weren't protecting the defence. Just a lot of running about.

City are the same really in their midfield, so it could be very end to end.

Yeah. This is why I was reasonably happy we missed out on Teixiera in truth, that £35m MUST be spent on a proper defensive midfielder, the absolute best we can get. The only time we hve looked solid in recent seasons is when Lucas is playing well. We need to unearth another Mascherano type player. Along with a goalie. If we have £50m or so to spend in the summer sort these two positions out.

Yes Augsburg have improved in recent weeks, Hitz is a good keeper and I thought they gave a decent account of themselves tbh.

Markus Weinzierl is a good young trainer too, he is being mentioned for the Bayern job in a few years.
